It’s been a rollercoaster first twelve months since the market relocated from the old Castle Market but with a huge scheme of re-generation planned for the area The Moor is looking to become one of the premium shopping destinations in the region. An average of 60,000 people a week browse the magificent new market hall

and there is a whole host of schemes planned to make it more accessible in the near future with cheap parking, bus services and a whole host of special offers. Markets have always been known for their variety and spirit, and The Moor is no different. Quality products, a huge range of products and services plus amazingly friendly customer service means The Moor Market is the place to go this Christmas.

WIN TICKETS TO SEE STRICTLY LIVE WITH CRIMBO BINGO As BBC One’s smash hit entertainment show Strictly Come Dancing continues to dominate Saturday night TV the lovely people at the Motorpoint Arena have given us a pair of tickets to give away to a lucky reader for the matinee performance on Tuesday 27th January. Audiences will experience Strictly’s glitz, glamour and breathtaking choreography in this supersized arena spectacular as some of the celebrities and professional dancers from the hugely anticipated twelfth BBC series take to the dance ﬂoor to recreate their dazzling moves. The judges will be offering their invaluable wisdom and all important scores, featuring the am-a-zing Craig Revel Horwood, who is directing the live show for the ﬁfth year running. As well as competing for the judges’ scores, the celebrities and their dance partners will vie for votes from the audience, who can text vote via their mobile phones and ultimately decide who wins the prized Glitterball Trophy at each performance.

The Moor Market has listened to customers and opened up the walkway near the butchers to give customers more room to get around and will be open extended hours and 7 days a week from 1st-24 December 8.30am-6pm

Anthony Andrews Anthony specialises in fish, poultry and seasonal game, for the adventurous chef! He also stocks Halal chicken, Faroe cod, prawns and hake - all at fantastic prices! S&J’s Pantry Lovely husband and wife team Susannah and Jonathan run the stall offering local and regional fairly traded and artisanmade real leaf teas, homemade jams and chutneys, Khoos sauce (the chillis are grown in Sheffield!) Mrs Shah’s curry mix (made by the lady herself who lives in Firth Park) - something new to tempt all palates ! Karens Kitchen 5 Star Hygiene rated Karen’s Kitchen hosts a warm welcome and an array of homemade pies made freshly every morning at 5.15am when trained chef Karen fires her ovens up! Her Full English breakfast is famous in the market, and with offers such as pie, chips and peas for only £3.50 you can dine like a king. K&G Jewellers Graham Longdon is famous name to both the Moor and Castle Markets and comes from a long line of jewellers and watch repairers. A master craftsman works on site. Also they stock a great range of watches, clocks, gifts, silver jewellery, photo frames and diamond rings! Tony’s Butchers Trading since 1978, Tony started in the old Castle markets at the age of 13! His stall boasts a vast array of fresh turkeys and turkey crowns, quality pork joints, british beef, and superb english lamb. Select your meat and your joint will be cut to size! Beer Central The bells are ringing in Beer Central this month as they celebrated their first birthday on the 25th November. It’s been a busy year for the city centre’s bustling bottle shop and with Christmas approaching it’s been a frantic few weeks. It’s clear that things continue to buzz down at Beer Central, they’re open Sundays up to Christmas and until 6pm throughout December (Mon-Sat) as well. He only bakes 120 of these a day so get there early!
