My Son the Footballer Thursday 20 March A poignant tale of one man's obsession with the beautiful game, My Son The Footballer is written and performed by thought provoking comedian Owen O'Neill. Ronnie Drew in “Ronnie I Hardly Knew Ya”
Saturday 10 May Ronnie Drew's is the most recognisable voice in Ireland - it was also the original lead voice of The Dubliners, the most famous Irish folk band in history. A mixture of singing, hilarious storytelling, recitations and Ronnie's amazing anecdotes, Ronnie I Hardly Knew Ya is a highly entertaining look at the life and times of an extraordinary man of music, literature, wit and charm.

Friday 16 May For thirty years until his death in 1993, Frank Zappa was America's most controversial musician. His music ranged from rock and jazz to the most complex classical styles. His close to the knuckle lyrics took an unflinching look at religion, sex and politics. Zappa was funny and fiercely intelligent, inflammatory and sometimes infuriating, but never dull. The Muffin Men are dedicated to keeping Zappa's legacy alive. Their shows combine music from all periods of his career, mixing boogie with classical, jazz with doo-wop. Third Bury Blues Festival Saturday 21 June
Following last year’s two day extravaganza, The Bury Blues Festival returns to its original format with a single day crammed to bursting point with the best in British, European and American bluesmiths. Just a few of this year's festival artists include: Rick Payne - Britain’s answer to Ry Cooder. Rootsie blues with elements of jazz and ragtime and an emphasis on slide guitar. Preston Reed - American guitarist who has appeared alongside Linda Ronstadt and Bonnie Raitt - phenomenal technique and deep sensitivity. Claude Bourbon - French blues guitarist influenced by flamenco and delta-blues. Doug MacLeod - New Yorker who has played with Pee Wee Carayton and Big Mama Thornton. Haunting, lyrical acoustic guitar blues. Mick Abrahams - Ex-Jethro Tull and Blodwyn Pig guitarist - a mountain of storming blues energy and power. More artists, including our big name headliners, will be announced soon!

The Oldham Tinkers and Bernard Wrigley Saturday 5 July
Saturday 28 June
The Oldham Tinkers are John Howarth, Gerry Kearns and Dave Howard, three fine old English gentlemen who sing classic and comic songs from Deepest Lancashire - The Rochdale Mashers, The Owham Chap's Visit to the Queen, Come Whoam to Thi Childer an' Me, and many others. They are joined by actor and singer Bernard Wrigley. One of the north West’s most familiar faces, Bernard has appeared in Coronation Street, Phoenix Nights, Cold Feet, Dinner Ladies, Emmerdale, Last of the Summer Wine, and others too numerous to mention!
Comedian and writer Linda Smith hits the stage running with her brand new show. Ten seconds into the timebomb-ticking intro to 'Black Elvis' we realise just how we've missed Gold Blade... no-one else delivers rock's gospel as surely, as totally, as Brother John Robb. His restless spirit courses through the urgency of the 'Blade's glamour-drenched strut: the sense that every moment of your life is allor-nothing, to be lived to the utmost, and that rock 'n' roll can be your fuel, your salvation, your reason for living.
