Introducing Deja Drewit's Self Care Corner

Pick a card any card. Well if you don't have Deja Osbourne's decks yet, we're picking for you. Deja was struggling as a single mom, overwhelmed and tired she decided to take her power back. She did this with her artistic prowess and created a deck of cards with low cost things she could do to get back on track and care for herself. She knew that she wasn't the only one struggling and there were a lot of other women out there just like her. So began her mission to help women to truly love themselves and take their power back.

My Quality Time Self Care Deck

STRETCH

This is my favorite self-care activity because it helped me with chronic back pain and it is how I start each and every day. If you can, try to incorporate stretching, yoga or movement each day. Too busy? I usually listen to relaxing music during my stretches, but you can also catch up on some videos, podcasts.

I Surrender from the Personal Power Deck

Personal Power Deck: Surrender

Tune in to what the Universe wants you to do.

Have you ever been so overwhelmed trying to make something happen and no matter how hard you try, something always seems to get in the way? There are times things are beyond our control or we are not meant to take action. Everything is about ebb and flow and we have to learn to acknowledge that time and simply surrender. Tune in to what the Universe wants you to do.

Surrender, have fun, do something adventurous and let life be your inspiration or spark. When you surrender to life’s plan, it brings you the people and opportunities necessary to proceed to take the next step. Take a break, allow your mind to be still. Go for a walk, take a quiet bath or shower, meditate or swim. Journal and write down your thoughts. It can take an hour to get clarity or it can take days, weeks or even more. Trust that when you are meant to take action, that spark of clarity will reveal itself to you.

JOURNAL PROMPTS

What have you spent a lot of time and effort towards and it still hasn’t worked out?

When has surrendering worked for you? How can you tap into that power now?

How can you surrender when you don’t know what happens next?
