The Pierrot Strike: Summering in Seoul and Musings Thereof [I]f there is one thing I learned working at a firm in Seoul this

summer, it is the importance of having

a hobby.

At the firm, I share a room with a junior associate, I am assigned a more senior mentor, and I get work from

anybody and everybody. From my of different interaction with a variety lawyers, I have come to observe that a common denominator among the most successful attorneys in Korea is their

composure. Regardless of whom they kind of time are speaking to or what crunch they are working under, good lawyers are always courteous, gentle,

and firm.

All in all, through all the hurdles and uncertainties that come with striving towards careers in the public sector, what compels CLS students to pursue these careers is often the sense of pride in being part of the broader fight for social justice. Ultimately, even for those who aspire to make mid-career transitions from Biglaw to government, the pursuit of public service-oriented experiences during law school can lead to smoother transitions and allow them to maintain faith in their own commitment towards the greater good.

Of course, the people in the flesh. I call phenomenon is the one image I could never capture on film to place next to my framed Eiffel Tower. But as experiences go, it is one I’ll inexorably,

undeniably, permanently associate with Paris.

been a wild summer getting to

pretend I belong at these events… old adage It’s been fun testing the

“the grass is always greener on the other side.”’ I took a stroll on the other side this summer, and it’s not grass at all – people are just walking on stacks of money.

However, no matter how pretty the ice capped mountains or how breathtaking Lake Léman could be, nothing quite matched the beauty of a large, overstuffed Chipotle burrito. It has been a truly wonderful summer, but I am very happy to come back home to New York.
