Aayah Nuriddin Porter
As a young American and architectural engineer currently based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, I bring a unique perspective to the field of architecture shaped by my multicultural upbringing. With a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from Prince Sultan University, I have developed a diverse skill set that encompasses all facets of the design and construction process. My professional journey has been enriched by my tenure at the World Defense Show, working under the General Authority for Military Industries in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Here, I have gained invaluable experience in design, 3D modeling, and collaboration within complex environments. Other accomplishments include designing and supervising the construction of an event management company's new office space, where I designed and maximized space efficiency over 4 months. My curiosity for sustainable design has led me to volunteer on a placemaking project, where I contributed to the development of a revised plan for a new public park in a disadvantaged neighborhood. I participated with a team of 20+ volunteers in designing the local park by hosting a workshop for 200+ residents, allowing them to be involved in the design process. Currently navigating NCARB's Foreign Architect path, I am eager to expand my horizons and explore opportunities in the United States and the Middle East, particularly focusing on architecture positions centered around design and BIM technologies. My background as an American growing up in Saudi Arabia has instilled in me a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and a global perspective, making me an asset to dynamic teams and innovative projects.
