mud + politics

Take the next step. When it comes to being a student in college, politics are inevitable. But the pattern of inheriting our parents’ views, whether they’re left or right, is over. It is our responsibility to form an educated opinion on what matters to us. Here's how to get started:

Our experiences shape our politics. Make a list of things that you believe should change, improve, or deserve closer scrutiny in your community. Yet, advocating for others, even when you can't relate to their experiences, is integral for modern politics.

A consistent quality of politicians across the world is their ability to speak in public. It's hard to find unbiased information, but focus on facts and statistics from reputable sources. Websites such as votesmart.org have information on politicians that can be extremely helpful.

Understand that people might not agree with your political views and that's okay. Engaging in active discussion is a stimulating way to learn more about yourself, your views, and what you consider important for the world.
