Acoustics: The qualities that determine the ability of a hall or room to reflect sound (like when you sing in the shower you can hear the echoes).

Melody: A succession of musical tones that carry the main theme of a work of music.

Harmony: Blocks of different tones that sound together to make one chord.

Chorus: A group of vocalists organized to sing together under the guidance of a conductor.

A Cappella: Without instrumental musical accompaniment, comes from the phrase “In the style of the chapel.”

Choral Music: Music arranged for the different vocal ranges of male and female singers.

Rhythm: The pattern of repeating strong and weak beats and silence.
