Members of the Mannville Elks hosted their 3rd annual Bike and Classic Car Rally on June 4.

The fundraising event attracted 40 participants who travelled to four other communities in the region. The communities included: Viking, Irma, Wainwright and Vermilion. At each community, they stopped at the Elks Hall to take a break and add to their poker hand.

The last stop of the day was the Mannville Gazebo on Main Street where a community supper was held. Rally Chairman Jim Storch was pleased with the turnout as well as the support from several local businesses who sponsored the event.

Storch said the Mannville Elks have helped support the school’s hot lunch program, local food bank, reading program and gazebo at the hospital, benches, blankets and flower pots. They have also helped a few families in need.

While he’s not sure about the genesis of the rally, he said members were looking for something new, different and exciting to do. Storch said the rally also helps promote the Mannville Elks, Village of Mannville and other small towns along the route.

First, second and third place prize winners included: Jim Mead, Murray Headon and Brian Dunn. Consolation prize winners were: Aubrielle Headon, Sam Katic, Richard Headon and Calvin Coulter. Winner of the Irma 50/50 draw was Darcey Bauer.
