Michelle Pinon - News Advertiser
The Mundare Medical Clinic officially opened on June 8.
Dr. Dalia Hassaballah was excited to open her new practice and grateful for the support she has received from the Town of Mundare.
“My first day was exciting and went very well. My husband came in with me for support.” Her first patient was Christine Baxandall. “She was my patient in Vegreville and moved with me in my new clinic.”
Dr. Hassaballah admits, “Opening a clinic was a challenge, but the Town of Mundare was very supportive and I really appreciate that. Lisa Euchuk, Theresa Warawa and Colin Zyla have been always around and they just made me feel belonging, this is something that made a huge difference.”
She also wanted to acknowledge the support of the Kalyna Primary Care Network for their “outstanding support and guidance.”
As far as scheduling, Dr. Hassaballah said, “My days are variable as I do some emergency on-call covering in St. Joseph General Hospital in Vegreville, yet patients can call for appointments from 9 am to 3 pm. Voice messages are responded to within 24 hours. Some days we do have walk-in appointments as well. To check availability patients shall call first thing in the morning as appointments are filled up fairly quickly.”
A Golden Opportunity

People had the chance to receive cash for their unwanted Canadian paper money, gold and silver jewellery, sterling flatware and other items at the TC Precious Metals Recycling Roadshow at Royal Canadian Legion hall in Vegreville on May 31 and June 1.
In the flyer of TC Precious Metals, it was also written that people could also just find out what the ballpark price of their items were worth and there was no obligation or pressure to sell their items.
Precious Metals Buyer and President of TC Precious Metals Terry Burrill replied when asked what TC stands for in TC Precious Metals, “T stands for Terry, C stands for Clayton My grandfather) he started me coin collecting in the early 60’s when I was in cub scouts for my collector badge.”
When asked if he does this roadshow for a living or as a hobby, Burrill answered, “I do this full time to provide a service to communities that usually have to travel for this.
To mine new gold energy cost are above $500 per ounce and recycled gold costs around $50 per ounce.
Vegreville had a strong turnout with quite a few returning customers from previous shows and from the first day of this show, over 50 people showed up.
Every piece of jewelry or coin collection has a story, which is why this is such an interesting job,” Burrill explained.
