Tourism Coordinator for Vegreville Michelle Gladys explained, “The Very Vegreville Christmas's objective is to offer an event that brings the community together with free activities that all ages can enjoy.

We had 13 parade entries.

“We had 13 parade entries. I would say the highlight of the night was the attendance. We had more people show up for the light up and parade than we can ever remember in the past, at least pre-Covid. That includes the attendance at the other aspects of the night as well.

Photos with Santa would also be a highlight, where people were lined up outside the front doors of the Vegreville Aquatic and Fitness Centre all the way to the sidewalk by the street. Over 92 families/groups had their photo taken with Santa.

The free public swim had 67 patrons and we collected three bins of food for the Vegreville Food Bank.”

In conjunction with this event, Vegreville and District Co-op also hosted the Iconic Seasonal Coca-Cola Holiday Truck where children were able to visit with Santa and receive treats which saw approximately 200 attendees.”
