Springbok Sevens team with fans at Springbok Experience, V&A Waterfront
Cape Town rugby supporters had a great chance to meet their Springbok Sevens heroes on Heritage Day, 24 September, at the Springbok Experience. The occasion marked the first birthday anniversary of the Springbok Experience, the state of the art museum of the South African Rugby Union situated at the V&A Waterfront, one of Cape Town’s biggest tourist attraction. The full squad and management paid a visit to the Experience where Neil Powell, Coach of the Springbok Sevens team presented a Commonwealth Games jersey to SARU CEO Jurie Roux, where it will be on display in the museum.

HOMELAND FILMING IN CAPE TOWN Cape Town is playing host to the fourth season of the highly successful TV drama, Homeland which begins screening in America on 5 October.

This multiple Emmy-winning sensation started filming during mid-June at various locations in Cape Town. Narrow streets and city buildings in Cape Town was transformed into Islamabad, Kabul and Washington DC. Michael Klick, Co-Executive Producer of Homeland says, “There are a few places we could have shot, but for a variety of reasons primarily political, economic and climatic, it didn’t work out.” Because the filming is not done in the Middle East, each location has to be dressed to be a true and honest reflection of the Pakistani capital and everything was created from scratch. About $100 000 alone was spend on the cars that had to be modified to look like cars used in Pakistan.
