Could you tell us something about the creative process you go through when preparing for a new role? It’s very versatile! It really depends on what the role requires. In Bella Bettien, I played the role of a young of woman, who became a very important figure in the international drugsscene. When did acting start to play role in your life? It actually started very young. From the moment that I started watching movies and visiting the theatre. Between six and eleven years old I knew I wanted to be part of the world of storytelling! No matter in what way, through theatre, films, songs or writing. It became mostly the first two. But who knows what’s to come, I like that storytelling is a very broad term.
Tell us something about your latest part? And what can we look forward to? Currently i am shooting a new Dutch tv series, an adaption of a Danish hitseries. I love the characters in this story and love the combination of lightness and drama. I play a teacher, a young single mom with three kids. She is politically incorrect, very honest and though that makes her tough sometimes it makes her also very lovable I think. It will air in November this year. There’s quite a lot coming up actually.
‘Atlantic’ will be released next week, an international epic film about a windsurfer who got shot along the coast of South Morocco. At the end of summer the movies ‘De Reunie’ and ‘Schone Handen’ will be released in the cinema. Next to this on television the 3rd season of successful series ‘Overspel’. Who or what is your source of inspiration? Life itself, for everything! You and fashion? I am fascinated by people dressing themselves, whether fashionable or not. I think I tend to relate it from my professional experience. I catch myself wondering; What story does this outfit tell or the other way around, in what way shall i dress to share the world of a specific character?

In what way are you conscious about recycling or sustainable fashion? First of all I hardly éver buy things at the stores that don’t take care of the people working for them (child labor, poisonous paints or chemicals they work with and that ruin environment, underpaid people etc etc). So I check labels and also ask where How do you define your style? things come from, where they are made. My own style has been mixed up and Its why I love Fillipa K for example, they messed up by all the different characters are committed to be sustainable and slowly I’ve played. I tend to start to love the things steadily work their label to the next level I wear for a part. Therefore I now have step by step. an enormous mix of ‘people’ in my closet.
