What Arkansas-Pine Bluff had to say following the loss

The Cowgirls prevented the Bears from scoring. The Bears had 16 shots in the match with three shots on goal. All three of those shots on goal were in the first half. The Cowgirls however, did not let the Bears’ attack disrupt them defensively. Goalie Jordan Nytes had three saves in the first half for the Cowgirls. The Cowgirls continued a strong defensive match in the second half. The Bears had no shots on goal in the second half, and the momentum fully shifted in the Cowgirls favor.

“Phenomenal, would you know she’s a freshman the way that kid plays?” said OSU coach Colin Carmi chael about Nytes. “Her composure to come and take high balls and the world class save she made in the first half, I mean just phenomenal. Defense, adjustments led to a Cowgirls victory

Early on in the contest, the Brown set the tempo with a strong attack. That paired along with the high winds that blew into the Cowgirls territory, caused most of the first half to be spent on OSU’s side of the field. The Cowgirls remained scoreless in the first half and big adjustments needed to be made to get the offense going.

The second half was all for the Cowgirls. Going into the second half, Carmichael knew the wind would play a part in swinging the momentum in favor for the Cowgirls. Most of the second half was spent in Brown’s ter ritory because of the wind blowing in that direction and the Cowgirls’ attack. The Cowgirls were able to capitalize off of the momentum change and Olyvia Dowell scored twice.

The newest Star Wars series to find its way to Disney+ is “Andor”, which follows one of the protagonists from 2016’s ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.’ With the release of the first three episodes this week, I can say that I was thoroughly surprised and treated with a much-needed breath of fresh air, that I do not think I even knew I needed. ‘Andor’ is set in the Star Wars universe, but simultaneously feels like something we are familiar with while also feeling unlike anything that has ever been seen before in Star Wars.

its subdivisions has never felt quite so large to me. Especially considering that there has yet to even be a Storm trooper in sight thus far.

‘Andor’ has more of a slow burn pace than some viewers may be used to and feel as if there is not much payoff in each episode, but the show seems to benefit more from having multiple episode arcs within the series. The first three episodes have a great culmina tion in the end that rounds out what is some well-crafted and exciting setup for the future of the season.

The show feels much more like a crime and espionage drama that happens to be set in the universe, rather than the usual space opera themes that have made the franchise what it is.

Page 6 Thursday, September 22, 2022 O’Colly

Another thing to note is that ‘Andor’ is the first Disney+ Star Wars series not to be entirely filmed on The Volume technology that was popular

ized with ‘The Mandalorian.’ With that being said, the sets and production of this show are fantastic and the decision to film on location is noticeable and will always be a clear upgrade to me.

Star Wars once again. New episodes of ‘Andor’ will be streaming on Dis ney+ every Wednesday until its season finale.

The series feels like it is focusing on the storytelling and the characters first and foremost, rather than cam eos and easter eggs, which makes me beyond hopeful for where the show goes next. The characters truly are the heart and soul of ‘Andor’ as this feels like a show that is meant to encapsu late what it would be like to suffer in a galaxy under the rule of the Empire and just how far these characters can be pushed without hope to give them strength. There are a lot of new faces being introduced within the first three episodes, but despite this, the show manages to make each of them have just enough time on screen to form a fair opinion of each while also get ting the point across that their fear of the Empire is a character in itself. With temperatures still reach ing 100-degree highs during the day, a nighttime Zumba class just made sense. Students filled the section of the lawn directly in front of the library, ready to get their groove on. Zumba

instructor Heather Yates stood on a platform so dancers could see her clearly and two large speakers were set up so students could hear the music.

The combination of music, dancing and fitness creates an upbeat environment that keeps participants motivated to return for more. At the end of the class, many participants asked Yates if she taught at the Colvin or worked as a fitness instructor at

the university. Yates does work at the university, but not in the Colvin. She is a professor of construction engineering technology during the day day and a Zumba teacher at night.

The dancers enjoyed exercising to trending pop music such as Dua Li pa’s “Levitating” and Lizzo’s “About Damn Time.” Yates sang along to the music as she encouraged the dancers with an occasional “Stay with me.”

Others enjoyed the music as they sat on the front steps of the library or stopped to watch as they passed.

The upbeat music and the echoes of the students’ cheers attracted even more dancers than expected.

“We did one for ‘Welcome Week’ but the turnout was not this big,” Yates said.

Dozens of students occupied Library Lawn for a glow in the dark Zumba class Tuesday night.

Using the light from the library as their lamp, over 100 students danced barefoot in the grass to a nighttime Zumba class Tuesday night.

This is the second Zumba event hosted on the lawn this semester.

If you missed out this time, don’t worry. Yates teaches a Zumba class every Monday at 4:30 p.m. in the Seretean Wellness Center. To join Yates’ class, register online at 24 hours ahead of the class time at rec.wellness. okstate.edu.

“We had about 80 sign up, but maybe 20 extra showed up,” Yates said.
