The last ride
By Noah Weber Natasha Mack’s day at Gallagher-Iba Arena started and ended with tears. As Mack walked into the Oklahoma State locker
room that was freshly decorated for the Cowgirls’ senior day matchup against the Iowa State Cyclones, some tears began to fill her eyes as this was her final home game of her senior season. Although this was a bit
of a sad day for Mack, her performance on the court was anything but sad. Mack finished with 24 points, four rebounds and six blocks while also shooting a perfect 6 for 6 from the free-throw line despite
the fact that she thought she had a bit of a tough start to open up the game. “(In) the first half, I had a little attitude when things weren’t falling my way, but I realized it’s a team game and my teammates are playing great,” Mack said. Although Mack is an elite player on the court and seems to stuff the stat sheet every game, coach Jim Littell always harps on the fact that she is as good of a person off the court as she is on the court. “I love her,” Littell said. “She is one of those kids that after you talk to her, she makes everyone around her feel special and that is a unique thing to do.” Special is the exact word to describe Mack’s day today. She started the day with tears in her eyes as the locker room was decorated for senior day, she then had an outstanding game in front of a loving crowd and her day finally came to a close as OSU’s alma mater played over the speakers as she had her arms around her teammates for the final time on the north end of Gallagher-Iba. The exact emotions that Mack felt as she saw her locker decorated for senior day returned as the alma mater came to a close. Tears. sports.ed@ocolly.com
