Cowgirls claims overall national title, first in program history Gabriel Trevino Staff Reporter Another trophy will enter the gallery of Heritage Hall. For the first time in its history, Oklahoma State’s equestrian team won the overall national championship, defeating Texas A&M 11-9 on Saturday. The NCEA National Championship kicked off with reining, where OSU fell behind 2-3, but the Cowgirls tied the score, 5-5, with a 3-2 victory in flat. Junior JoJo Roberson won her second event of the day in horsemanship, defeating Hanna Olaussen 226.5-221, as the Cowgirls took the lead heading into the final event: fences. The Cowgirls clinched the national championship in the final contest of fencing when senior All-American Sydnie Ziegler toppled Texas A&M’s Kaitlyn Lovingfoss 250.5-249. In his 23 years at the helm, coach Larry Sanchez led OSU to eight conference championships and four western national championships, but this is the first overall win for Sanchez and the Cowgirls. “Honestly, I could not be more proud of this group of girls,” Sanchez said. “They left everything on the line, trusted the process, and did more than we ever expected them to do. They deserve every bit of this.”

Abby Smith OSU swept Kansas this weekend to continue their dominance in Big 12 play.
OSU roars back to sweep Kansas Sam Hutchens Assistant Sports Editor A slow trickle turned into an onslaught. The Oklahoma State Cowgirls had a bad first inning on Saturday in Stillwater, but they came back to beat Kansas 10-2 in a five-inning run rule game. Senior pitcher Miranda Elish started the game for OSU. After a Kansas hitter reached when first baseman Haley Busby bobbled a grounder, the Jayhawks took an early lead. Freshman Olivia Bruno hit a home run to left center field, right into a strong
wind, to make it 2-0. “It’s like (Elish) needs something to get her going,” coach Kenny Gajewski said. “I don’t know why, I wish it was easier. I wish it wasn’t so hard. But it’s been a grind in the first.” It would be Kansas’ only runs. Elsih gave up one hit after the home run. For Elish, slow starts and strong finishes have been a familiar way for games to go. “It’s not ideal,” Elish said. “I have a habit of doing that. I start out a little slow and get some momentum as I go. I need to work on it. But our team is great. They pick me up instantly.” With the win, the Cowgirls (34-7, 11-1 Big 12) swept the Jayhawks. It didn’t take the Cowgirls long to get going offensively, and once they did they did not stop. OSU scored in every inning but the first. Senior Sydney Pennington tied the game with a
home run to center in the second. “Off the bat, I felt like it was going to go the whole time,” Pennington said. “I just didn’t know with the wind…I couldn’t pimp it. I almost did but I was like, ‘Eh, it is a little windy.’” OSU scored once in the third and fourth innings but exploded in the fifth. Using three hits, including one from Kansas transfer Morgyn Wynne, and neat base running, OSU scored six runs. Elish, who is batting .394, popped a ball through the right side of the infield to walk the game off. “I thought Elish was really good after she got settled in,” Gajewski said. “She had the big hit there late and continues to have a really good conference (play performance).”

Wolfberg clinches narrow victory in Cowgirls’ regular season finale Daniel Allen Staff Reporter
Noah Weber Alana Wolfberg powered the Cowgirls to a top 5 win to close the regular season in Stillwater.
For the second consecutive match day, it came down to the final set. Fresh off a one-point loss in Bedlam to No. 2 Oklahoma, OSU returned to action at the Greenwood Tennis Center in hopes of ending the regular season on a strong note heading into Big 12 championships. A sweep in doubles play would put the Cowgirls up early. However, Pepperdine responded with three singles victories from the start. With their backs against the wall, coach Chris Young’s squad showed tenacity and grit, responding with two consecutive victories from Lisa Marie-Rioux and Mananchaya Sawangkaew to tie the match at three apiece. The Cowgirls found themselves in a similar situation to Saturday night; the score tied at three with the deciding match coming down to the last set. After dropping the first set, Alana Wolfberg surged in her second set to force a decisive third set. It ended up going point-for-point. Wolfberg prevailed in the end, defeating Nikki Redelijk of Pepperdine by one to clinch a 4-3 upset bid over fifth ranked Pepperdine for the Cowgirls. The victory on Sunday marks win No. 100 all-time for OSU in the Greenwood Tennis Center. With the win, the Cowgirls finished the regular season 17-4. sports.ed@ocolly.com

3 takeaways Osmond finding groove against Mountaineers Bryce Osmond stuck out a career-high 11 batters in a win over West Virginia, OSU won two of three games against the Mountaineers.
Daniel Allen Staff Reporter On Sunday afternoon, No. 5 Oklahoma State clinched the series victory with a win in the series’ rubber match against West Virginia. Here are three takeaways from OSU’s 13-3 run-rule road win over the Mountaineers. Osmond finding groove It may have taken longer than expected, but pitcher Bryce Osmond has started to find himself. In Osmond’s first two seasons with
OSU, he struggled on the mound, posting a 5.06 ERA in his first and a 7.42 his second. However, in his past two outings, Osmond has played the part of the top 100 recruit coach Josh Holliday and his staff had reeled in out of high school, particularly in Sunday’s win over West Virginia. Osmond had firm control over his slider, a self-proclaimed knockout pitch of his, en route to a career high 11 strikeouts through 6.2 innings on the mound. In addition, Osmond allowed a season-low three hits. Consistency has been a thorn in the side for Osmond during his collegiate career. However, if he can manage to continue performing the way he has been as of late, it
will certainly bode well for OSU. Doersching’s displays power Doersching, the former College Baseball Home Run Derby champion, has displayed his power since returning to the Cowboys’ lineup. In Sunday’s win over West Virginia, Doersching blasted a pitch well out of the stadium, which would land right in front of a car in the streets surrounding Monongalia County Ballpark. Doersching missed a total of 22 games at one point in the season due to a broken left foot. However, his bat, particularly power, will play a key role in assisting OSU in the race for the Big 12 title. Difficult upcoming stretch With the win Sunday, OSU

improved to 9-3 in conference play, putting them in firm control of the first place position in the Big 12 standings. From this point on, the Cowboys have no easy task ahead of them, facing the second, third and fourth place teams in the Big 12 in the ensuing series, all of whom are ranked in the top 25.. Up to this point, OSU has lost just one weekend series, being swept by Gonzaga early on in the season. Staying hot and consistent is vital for the Cowboys as the most difficult stretch of the 2022 season begins next weekend.

The writing is once more at a high level as well as the production, cinematography and direction which is a delightful thing to see and puts my worries that the quality may dip at ease. Episode two takes the tone and feeling of mystery that the premiere established and dives deep into it. There is a considerable amount of action in the episode, which is filmed both creatively and at times humorously, as well as in a way that kept me invested throughout. Another aspect of the show that I did not mention in last week’s episode, but felt prevalent this time around, is just how good the musical score is and how it enhances the moments of tension.
Overall, there is not much that I can complain about in the most recent episode of “Moon Knight” as I find myself continually being impressed and ready to see more of what comes next. I look forward to seeing more of the mysteries of the show and the mental state of Steven Grant unravel as the show progresses. “Moon Knight” is definitely worth giving a watch, regardless of whether you are a fan of the comic book genre or not. “Moon Knight” airs every Wednesday on Disney+ until its conclusion on May 4, 2022.

In Defense of Fast Fashion Hot Take: The “f-word” in the fashion industry has some redeeming qualities. Written by: Tyler Tassi
What comes to mind when you hear the word “fast fashion”? No doubt, it has something to do with stores like Shein or Princess Polly, deplorable working conditions, trendy clothing items being sold for less than $10 or cheap quality clothes that are to be worn one month and thrown away the next. However, this article is not about the negative impacts of fast fashion. It is a well-known fact that fast fashion has devastating effects on the environment and the fashion industry as a whole. That is not being disputed. That topic has been written about enough already. This article is not in defense of the concept of fast fashion or the damage that it has caused. It is in defense of the consumer of fast fashion because the problem is not in the buying of fast fashion, but in the way it is being bought

and portrayed to the modern shopper. Before I get into how to buy clothing from fast fashion companies in a responsible way, let’s get into the reasons why some consumers buy clothing from fast fashion. For starters, many fast fashion clothing brands are more size inclusive than many slow fashion or more expensive brands. Most slow fashion brand’s sizing goes from a size S to XL, or XS if I’m lucky. This largely excludes a wide array of consumers, some who need larger sizes than XL or some who need smaller than XS. Fast fashion brands like Shein go up to 4XL in pants, while Uniqlo, a fast fashion brand from Japan, has trousers that start from size XXS and up. Because these brands are able to hold such a wide variety of inventory, they are able to be more size and shape inclusive.

WHEN IS LITTLE MUCH?
There is a short chorus that has encouraged me many times. “Little is much if God is in it. Labor not for wealth or fame. There’s a crown and you can win it. If you go in Jesus’ name.” The woman, who poured the precious ointment on Jesus just before he was crucified, was criticized for “wasting” this expensive item. Yet, Jesus said everywhere the gospel is preached this woman’s action would be told. (Mk 14:3-9) Little things mean a lot as we are willing to serve the Lord. Paul mentions many in Romans 16 who helped him. The Good Samaritan stopped to help the man beaten and robbed. (Lu.10:30-37) Paul writes as you have opportunity, do good to all men, especially to other believers.(Gal.6:10) When the poor widow dropped the two pennies, all that she had, into the temple offering. Jesus said she gave more the large offerings given. Her “large giving” was in relation to what she had. (Mk.12:41-44)
Many people may plan to give when they receive a great amount of money, but that large amount of money may never come. We may plan to give time or talent to a project when we have more time, but that perfect time arrangement may never happen. Again, the apostle Paul encourages us “as you have opportunity, do good to all men.” We never know when a little gesture of kindness, with money, or helping in an area of service, spending a little time with a person, a word of encouragement, will be just the action that will be a great help to someone. These can be practical ways of living out the Lord’s challenge to love one another. This is the fulfilling of the many commandments in the Bible: loving people by word and action.

Everyone involved wanted to keep details about the gig under wraps; Coachella, with a minimum ticket price of $449, prizes its youhave-to-be-there quality, even though the festival is livestreamed these days on YouTube. But Axwell allowed that the show will feature Swedish House Mafia and the Weeknd both separately and together. And Angello said they’re going bigger in terms of stagecraft than when they were set to play Friday. “There were limitations before because Harry’s stuff was gonna be in there,” he said.
