Hello Kentucky! We are beyond excited to have our first issue land in your hands. This issue is packed full of the all the beauty and inspiration Kentucky has to offer. When we launched The Wedding Collective in January 2020 we had a vision to curate a collective and develop a magazine that would give our modern couples inspiration for their big days. It has been a dream to create these pages. In this issue we bring you a light and airy dream at the White Chateau, warmth and laughter at Bodock Farms, and finally an Estate wedding that married tradition and family. Transforming from year to year, the ever-adaptable wedding industry takes on a new role of the “modern bride,” time and time again. From princess ball-gowns, to cloche hats, to a high-collared Jackie Kennedy; bridal trends have seamlessly adapted to the present by the time each season rolls around. What is considered novel and chic has transformed to our new view of the “modern-day bride”, sophisticatedly curated and modishly decorated. The term minimalism has completely taken off in every nook of the present culture and it advocates for every belonging to be stripped to only the essentials. When minimalism meets our \ ultramodern society, a new style is fabricated--contemporary chic. Morgan Marie Photography captured all of the details for any bride that may deem themselves a “modernist,” with concentration on all of the works that go into making a bride feel beautiful. Leona Morelock Designs, a constant in the southern wedding industry, set the stage for a simply portrayed bride in a graceful and artistic way with the elegant and intricate touches at The Historic Venue on 7th.

E V E RY T H I NG DRE S S E D I N WHI T E The choice of white as the bridal color has been the staple in the wedding industry since its inception; however, wedding dress styles have been refashioned consistently across time. Desiree Hartstock Bridal, having been in the wedding industry for over a decade has followed this path all the way to the styles we see today. The bride here is dressed in a delicate, ethereal dress with light and practical straps, a comfortable A-Line fit, and elegant traces of lace. Accompanied by the gorgeously, eccentric heels from Bella Belle Shoes, this bride makes her mark with every step she takes. Down to the intimates, the bride will be wrapped in all things delicate and gold. From the white intricate laced garter from Garter Girl, to the lightly embroidered robe from Domenica Domenica-there is nothing ordinary about this innovative style. Topped off with this gorgeous, sophisticated; however, simple ring from Kamaria Jewelry, the bride is set for a contemporary wedding. The pureness of all the pieces that make this bride, are perfection to a T. Nothing eludes a current, fresh vibe like the meticulously arranged bouquets curated by Florals by Shelby. These breathtaking arrangements seem to be the creations this bride was made to stand with. From the tasteful pops of greenery sprinkled around the stage, to the accents of individual flowers trickled throughout, an absolute dream is fashioned from scratch.

Courtney is dressed head to toe with a gorgeous, unique wedding dress from the Lael Collection. This dress is embroidered through with mesh and white lace overlaying a nude slip, which alludes to a simple yet eye catching vibe. This tailored silhouette is accented with a high neck halter and three delicately beaded straps on each shoulder. CLASSIC DETAILS There were many aspects of our wedding day that made it uniquely ours, but, most important to us was the history and family traditions we incorporated into our day. We were married on the front porch of Sophia’s maternal great-grandparents home, The Medley Home, which was her grandmother’s (Grandmoms’) childhood home. Sophia’s uncle, John McNulty, married us on the front porch and Samuel’s uncle, Bart Glasgow, spoke about family, love, and scripture during the ceremony. Once we were married, we shared our first meal together as husband and wife at the very same breakfast table Sophia’s great-grandparents, “Grandmoms”, and great aunts and uncles ate at when they were growing up. Sophia also wore “Grandmoms’” earrings and necklace that were a gift to her from her mother, Sophia’s great grandmother, “Gran Gran”
What was your favorite moment from the wedding? Walking down the aisle created numerous special moments. As we made our way to the front porch, I connected with individual guests, including a special connection with my mother as we passed, and as we got closer to the porch, I focused in on the very top where Sam was waiting for me. I specifically remember the moment he came into view, and I never broke eye contact with him until I hugged and kissed my father after giving me away.

My favorite moment from the wedding was when we walked back up the aisle as a married couple to “This Will Be” and were able to smile and wave at all of our friends and family. I also treasure the memory of sharing Medley bourbon with my new Medley family!
