A Brief History
As a design student I have learned many things while studying. The most important thing I’ve taken away is that change is constant but quality remains quality. I pride myself in achieving results that reflect the occasion and given scenarios and as such function more efficiently in fast paced environments with constant feedback. Creatively I am interested in the visual communication of architectural projects. I find that selling an experience of a project, or even a workplace, is the key driver to success.

“THE NEED FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
H
The initial concept within the project was to elminate the need for suburbia. Each building within the city is to become mixed use, encouraging the ideal that each community functions as a cell of a giant organism allowing people to work and live within the same sphere.
YDERABAD
MULTIRESIDENTIAL
Architecturally the design aims to reduce friction between social classes while maintaining a degree of civility and culture. In theory this multi-residential project was to become a model for the future of Hyderabad - a future unknown.

“Growth of a City By 2030, cybercity will become a walkable part of hyderabad along with several other such communities. The vision of each project is that intime (2050) the city
will become pedestrianised. There will no longer be any need for cars as they become undesirable. Major transport is done either on foot or by bicycle.
The building is composed of three sections each divided by a garden. This is to add a physical seperation between working and living. The breakup of the zones are influenced by the need for visual connection between living above and living below. The breakup further enhances meeting places in both of the garden spaces. Each of these spaces are designed to give more earth back than what was taken, effectively doubling the amount of possible vegetation than what was originially on the ground.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to predict the effect that both increasing populations and climate change will have on Rockhampton. Through careful analysis, we have determined that climate change and densification within the region could lead to dead spaces within the CBD. With this in mind a Fitzroy River Revitalisation project has been developed in aims of tackling the harmonies between natural and human made environments. This is achieved through different stages: Observation: Determining the effects of dead spaces Appreciation: Respecting the culture of the space Activation: Increasing interest and activity in the space Progression: Moving forwards to a balanced habitat

Referencing Grid This aspect of the information center focuses on the observation of the surrounding town fabric. Focusing on heritage architecture within Rockhampton allows us to achieve a design which encapsulates the idea of Rockhampton. It was important during the design process to not copy heritage architecture, but rather reference back to it. Similarly when looking at the city grid it was determined that designing
towards the current grid would limit the experience of the information center. Thus, through process it became apparent that a change of grid was needed. Following the process it becomes clear why this was a decision that needed to be made.Referencing from the city grid gave the design a point of intereset and created a journey that ensnares the individual.
Appreciation was another key driver in the project and was highly influential when consider movement. This particular driver focuses on the wider community and creates a space in which works can be displayed. Being part of the information center, the gallery become central. Key moments in this process highlighted the need for visual points of interest which encouraged individuals to participate in the activities that are provided. This then lead into the movement of the gallery to create a appealing journey for users of the space. The gallery (and design) is meant to be perceived on a multilevel platform, thus voids were introduced in or-der to peak interest. These voids were placed in alternate places to highlight aspects of the design which were notable.

Journey
The activation of Rockhampton was designed to take place over 100 years. Casting into the future allowed the design to accommodate years of change in the aims of achieving a better city - made for flood. The design was actioned by the first stage of the river activation.
The aim of this element of the design is to create a journey throughout the site. Creating different view points and providing an interesing journey accommodates for the needs of the wider public. Alternately materials have been chosen for these specfiic areas to ensure that they achieve a durable outcome in times of floods.

HALL OF DEMOCRACY
The framework for democracy in Australia is firmly set in place to for a successful governmental body. The issues surrounding the idea of democracy is the lack of education within the wider community. This in turn affects the means of communication the public which has primarily been done through the media. In effect, the media has become the mediator between governmental and public domains. This mediator relationship has then been used to inform the public on how the governmental body has been running and how to vote accordingly. Negativity surrounds the ideal of Democracy in Australia because these are the messages that we as the public are getting from the media. For democracy to become a successful and further well used endeavour within Australia we as the public need to educate ourselves. This needs to start at a young age to remove the idea of negativity. The Keystone Project should form the connection between the younger generations and the idea of policy. The aim of the project is to generate a conversation in the wider Brisbane regions to educate the masses.

Solution For a democratic system to function a constant dedication is required from both parties; Public and Govenment. This relationship enforces the importance and the equality of decisions being made and turned into policies. As the public of a democracy you are required to educate yourself, which then inturn can create positive desicions and outcomes.

Resolution There are many ways in which to resolve this issue. The aim of this project is to create a building which can service the greater brisbane region in education. Targeting the younger population will generate a wider discussion and possibly questions as to why we do what we do.

Requirements The primary goal of this brief was to create a building which could be a standalone beacon of democracy; a transparent architecture. This is problematic as transparency and democracy rarely agree; thus the primary goal of this building is to create a knowledge hub which allows democracy to become transparent through education. The site is located in Brisbane CBD and is bordered by Margaret, Alice, George and William Street. The building itself should form strong connections with Parliament
House, 1 William Street and the botanical gardens as these are major landmarks surrounding the site. The building should facilitate uses to the surrounding workplaces and should include cafes, auditoriums and IT zones. The Hall should also create a connection to wider Brisbane CBD through an information centre and meeting rooms/conference rooms. It should also create facilities which entices school programs to learn about democracy.
