OMM in Autumn/Winter 2011 Ice on the mountain, tussocks on the fells, mud on the trail. Rain, wind, hot or cold, OMM inspires outdoor adventure. We aim to meet racing, training and wider outdoor/running needs. The OMM event is our original and in 2011 we launch the OMM Series to continue the challenge. The packs and clothing range expands again for Autumn/Winter 2011 to ensure we are providing for more of the adventure more of the time... 2/3 April – OMM event skills at The National School of Mountaineering (Plas-y-Brenin). 25/26 June – The Original Mountain Bike Marathon (The Polaris Challenge) 3/4 September – The French OMM in the Jura Mountains 29/30 October – The Original Mountain Marathon (The OMM) Full details are available at www.theomm.com In February we will launch our new website. Linking with social media platforms the new site will increase user participation, improve display of products and events communications. OMM Clothing Design Principles Leanweight – The right features at minimal weight for best performance. OMM clothing must be light but not at the expence of safety or function. 2008’s Great Storm demonstrated that OMM eventer’s could be isolated in very extreme conditions where correct clothing is survival. On The Move Accessibility – Most of your kit will not need to be accessed while moving. However, water, food, compasses and maps are essential to keep at hand. Our packs embody this. Our clothing follows the same principles. Ventilation – Temperature regulation is essential to minimise perspiration and maximize comfort on endurance events. Your insulation layer needs to be adapted as you ascend, descend, run and take breaks. To minimize lost time through constantly changing layers OMM clothing must vent – sleeves must be able to be pushed up and long zips open allowing the perspiration to escape. Compatibility – We move all seams away from rub points with packs and avoid conflict with pockets where possible. Latest technologies ensure seaming is flat where needed. Fit and Motion – Accurate fit creates better insulation, breathability and minimises flapping fabric. However, you must be free to do what you want to do. We use stretch fabrics to give a closer, silent fit and abrasion resistant materials where these are needed. Layering – Flexibility to use a limited number of garments to generate a wide range of insulative and weather responsive combinations is core to being truly leanweight.

OMM Core Pack Design Principles LEANWEIGHT We donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t all use our OMM packs in the same way or for the same things and the features we require vary accordingly. For example, some people like to use a hydration bladder; some people like to use bottles. OMM specially creates parts of the pack that can be removed to produce a personally optimized leanweight product. We also provide instructions in our product manuals (www.theomm.com) for one-time customization. This is an invite to get the scissors out and remove features while, if done to our guidelines, not invalidating your guarantee. Our quoted LEANWEIGHT is the pack weight if you take all removable parts off. LINK system OMM packs are designed from our Mountain Marathon experience. However, we use them for many other things. The LINK system allows us to join OMM products from throughout the range in a modular system to create a pack that is unique to the user and tailored to travel, ski, climb or anything else.

Multifunction We design parts of our packs to have dual or more usage. The Multisport Compressor (MSC) gives compression and load carry: the Duomat is both a back system and a sleep mat: The Universal Gear Rail (UGR) allows you to carry a wide range of equiptment from axes to snowshoes and beyond. Hydration All Packs are designed for endurance sports so water carry and accessibility is essential. Stability Packs need to be stable for comfort while active. Harness attachment and compression systems keep the load tight to the back and stable. Strength OMM Leanweight chassis system and technical fabric selections provides strength at minimal weight. On The Move Accessibility Most will not need to be accessed while moving. However, water, food, compasses and maps etc. are essential to keep at hand for easy on the move access.
