S

tability and responsiveness are qualities that featured prominently at The • O’Neal School during the recent months, and I cannot imagine a more challenging yet rewarding time. Our community responded to the events of • 2020 with resilience, adaptability, gratefulness and a steady commitment to our greater mission. Despite the uncertainty, O’Neal has made every effort to ensure the best possible outcome for this academic year. • In this Quarterly, you will see a snapshot of the historic and very accomplished Class of 2020 who had a senior spring like no other. O’Neal is also launching our newest program, Traditions Golf Academy, in partnership with Forest • Creek Golf Club and with Nick Bradley as the Director. As The O’Neal School approaches our 50th year, our teachers challenge, nurture and inspire our students every day. I am truly proud to serve such an extraordinary community in such extraordinary times.

O’Neal opens for on-campus learning with a current record enrollment of 477 students. Under strict COVID protocols, a combined total of 600 registrations are served via summer camps and swimming. Class of 2020 receives diplomas in special individual family ceremonies in O’Neal’s theater. Tylar Pastre is awarded the Helen Pringle Holmberg Scholarship. Mia Grace Franco is the recipient of the Hannah Marie Bradshaw Scholarship. These 4-year scholarships are awarded yearly to rising 9th grade students who will be attending O’Neal’s Upper School.

O’Neal donates 2000 medical-grade masks to First Health of the Carolinas.

O’Neal 3-D printers help to create N95 masks for Moore County emergency responders.

O’Neal ties for runner-up with Pinecrest High School at the 24th Annual Young People’s Fine Arts Festival.

Niasha Kodzai is awarded the prestigious NCSU Park Scholarship.
