Labios Rosados For the last few years, you have been known as Wicked J. What made you decide to start going by your given name? Well, wicked j is my underground rap name given to me by some of my MC friends growing up. Now that I’m growing more as an artist, I don’t wanna just fit in one box for music in hip hop. I felt that changing my name would be better for branding purposes and expanding my audience. Who are your major influences? I get a lot of influences from various artists I am a fan of such as Tech N9ne, Young Drummer Boy, Tupac, Joyner Lucas and Bad Bunny. I also get influenced from those outside of the music scene especially in philosophy. I really enjoy listening to podcasts and recordings of different celebrities and philosopherstalking about life goals and becoming successful. This definitely opened my mind alot and helped me grow to have this ride or die mindset I put I my music. Does your music come from a place of passion or a place of necessity? My music comes from my heart and soul. I put my all into my tracks every time I step in the booth or on stage.
