1. Key concepts : the plant as player/ protagonist - Plants have been disregarded as living organisms in game design for years. From the carnivorous plant popping from a tube in Super Mario, to the fucked up plants of plants VS zombies have been secondary characters, of bad design and interaction quality, at their best. At their worst, as in most games, they are just part of the game environment, setting the mood of the game but never taking active part in the gameplay. This has to change. Plants will take their revenge plant growth - .plants are often considered as motionless, and subsequently have been portraied as such in video games. On the contrary plants DO move, and often for great distances. Sometimes in rates that remain unseen for the human eye, very slow or ever very fast. One of the most interesting aspects of plant movement is growth and we would like to explore it interactively. An amazing insight on plants movement can be seen in the BBC documentary “The Secret Lives of Plants” by David Attenborough. here is an excerpt from it. plant communication - another misunderstood aspect of plants is their networks of communication. Between science and conspiracy theories, lie the famous experiments of Cleve Baxter, that seem to prove telepathy among plants. plant sexuality - as portrayed by the charity group “Fuck for Forest”, but has little been explored by the porn industry. plant aggressiveness and plan to conquer the world - because of the seemingly peaceful nature of plants, humans often tend to overlook their evil masterplan for world domination. Plants, as all of Earth’s species, strive not only for survival, but for their share of the world resources. The collective mind of plants has decided not to let humans or any other animal stop the plants’ scheme for eternal sunshine and growth. As early contraptions of this evil mastermind, stand the early carnivorous plants, that are able to capture and digest insects and small animals. What plant evolution is leading too though, is a new species, not only able to attack humans, but also whole cities, the most dominant lifeform in the planet!

2. Gameplay : The player looks after a digital plant on a daily basis. The game begins with a seed designer, that gives the player a few options in deciding the plants powers and stats. The seed is then palnted and the player waits for it to sprout. Using many experimental input techniques, the player affects how a plant grows. According to his actions, a karma meter will transform the plant into a beautiful and cute bonsai, or a carnivorous monstrosity. Input techniques that will will try to develop include camera sunlight capture, screen caressing, phone singing and phone watering.

3. Game Development : Emphasis will be given on the visual and interactive aspects of the game. We will try try to achieve a unique artistic feel, experimenting within the visual language of new media art. New forms of player interaction and gameplay will be tested. We will try to translate the nature of plants into a digitally constructed environment. A great part of the game is the actual growing algorithm of the plant, that will include a combination of 3D collage, fractal mathematics and growth animations. The atmosphere of the game will be complemented by experimentation in lighting, colors, materials and environments.

4. Monetization: Untitled Plnt Game comes to fill a big gap in the app market. As a tamagochi genre app with a botanical twist it is destined to suck the bitcoin juices out of casual and addicted players. Free-to-play and pay as you play is the obvious monetization solution, making players pay to make the plant grow faster or get add-ons that can be seamlessly merged into each players unique plant. Optionally, emphasizing the carnivorous aspects of the plants could lead to an online plant dueling platform.
