Our Readers About the Equestrian Industry:
Equestrian competitors and fans constitute an ideal market for high quality products and services. As a group they are well educated, have ample disposable income and the time to use it in pursuit of their passions. Other factors, including age and profession, make them a perfect target audience for corporations seeking an upscale market. Research compiled from USEF offers these indicators of the buying power and influence held by horse sport enthusiasts:
* 85% are women * 63% are married * A majority are between 34-54 years of age * 66% have a college degree or higher * 56% are employed full-time * 80% make or directly influence purchasing decisions at work * 38% have a net worth over $500,000 * Nearly half have an annual income greater than $100,000 * 40% live on a farm; 66% of those are ten acres or more
* 63% have traded stocks, bonds or mutual funds in the last year * The market value of the average home is $594,000. 22% own two or more homes. * On average, they spend 30 nights per year in a hotel and rent a vehicle four times per year. * They own three vehicles; 53% own a pickup truck * 94% own a pet besides a horse or pony. Average number of cats owned is two and average number of dogs owned is two. Equestrian enthusiasts are highly active and mobile. Forty-three percent take more than 16 airline trips a year. Over half have purchased a new automobile within the last year and 97.3% hold more than one credit card account. * * Source: USEF
About the Influence of Youths: Youths also shape the buying patterns of their families. From vacation choices to car purchases to meal selections, they exert a tremendous power over the family pocketbook. Experts estimate that two- to fourteenyear-olds have sway over $500 billion a year in household purchasing. Thus, to influence youth is to influence the entire family’s buying decisions. *Source: www.princeton.edu - Sandra L. Calvert
The premier source for all things junior in the horse and pony world
For Juniors...By Juniors We effectively reach the junior rider market better than any other publication
The Paisley Magazine is known as the “go to source for junior equestrians and their families. Our young equestrian contributors provide valuable insight into current trends and happenings in the equestrian lifestyle. Readers come to us seeking the latest information on nutrition & care, equipment & supplies, as well as equine venues & fashion.
Paisley Ambassador Program We launched our Ambassador partnership program in 2016. We maintain relationships with our Alumni Ambassadors and bring in new ambassadors each year. We also have Team Paisley contributors from all over the country who offer perspectives from every level of competition. Through their participation as part of “Team Paisley” we are helping build skills in young riders by getting them out there to conduct interviews and meet with people in different corners of the horse industry. They also participate in various ways in the operation of the magazine- some through writing, others photography, graphic design, etc. Our goal is to empower our team kids and help them gain real life experience that benefits them in their lives. Working closely with our team gives us valuable insight into current trends and happenings within the horse community. Contact us if you would like to be a part of our program. An example of what we love about our Ambassador Program:
From Team Member Maddie Rauschenbach :
How has being a Paisley Team Ambassador helped you? Being a Team Paisley Ambassador has been a wonderful experience for me. I have been able to meet lots of important people in the business, including Bob Cachione, head of the IHSA, and Roxanne Rheinheimer, head of the IEA. When I was at IEA National Finals I got a chance to meet Mr. Cahione and take a picture with him and the current copy of the Paisley Pony Magazine. I wouldn’t have just walked up to him and said Hi, but since I was able to introduce myself as a Paisley Pony Ambassador it was easier to do. Also, being an Ambassador has opened other doors for me as well. ECE now sponsors me, and that connection started because I was affiliated with the Paisley Pony.
if juniors and their parents are your market...no one reaches it better than we do!

Paisley Magazine
The Paisley Magazine
“Beyond a magazine, Paisley believes in making an impact to riders at all levels. They understand and work with companies to make their advertising dollars convert to sales! They are a great partner to work with!” ~ Tracey Currey of PonyTail Bows “Thanks for always having great customer support as I do a new ad. Your graphics department does amazing stuff to make my ad “POP” and get plenty of attention. Shelly Viruete is always available to help and changes are always welcomed. Sometimes I know I can be a pest!! I look forward to viewing your wonderful magazine plus it can be read online!! That is a great touch. A happy customer.” ~ Sandy Sue Holbrook - Sugarbrook Farm “ Elliena EQ and Ellie’s Bows would like to thank Paisley Pony Magazine, especially Cindy and Shelly for helping us with all of our advertising needs. They were super accommodating and flexible. They made all of our advertising look amazing and we cannot thank them enough for our beautiful cover! Thanks again to the Paisley Magazine team. “ Name: Simone Coate Age: 15 Discipline: Hunter/Jumper What I’ve enjoyed: I’ve enjoyed getting to know all of the ambassadors and becoming a part of the Paisley family. Everyone is so kind and supportive and it’s so wonderful to be a part of such a welcoming group.
@thepaisleymag Over the years I have probably supplied as many photos to as many magazines as any other photographer. Admittedly because I’ve been doing it for longer than most. I must admit that our relationship with much of the media has not been very good from our point of view. Somehow many of the magazines thought that they were offering a wonderful opportunity to photographers by using their photos in exchange for a photo credit. If I had received even a minimal payment for each photo that was “going to make you famous” I would probably still have good relations with many magazines. But I didn’t…so I don’t. I have been supplying Cindy Taylor and her magazines photos for at least 20 years…probably longer. Cindy Taylor has never seen an invoice from us and not one issue goes by that Cindy does not contact us and ask us if we’d like to run an ad…for the same price that we bill her for photos. We take care of each other…and there is no better way to “do business”. We both have the same outlook…What can we do for each other to better the media that horse people have to look forward to each month. The magazine business is facing some challenging times ahead and we are happy to make our work available to Cindy and her ventures. ~ James Leslie Parker/The Book LLC
