throughout the season, and heads into the final Record: 10-6-1 few games with a record of ten wins, six losses, and one tie. In recent game, the lady Panthers were defeated at home against South Lake by a score of 1-0. The girls’ have played tough all season, and look to finish the season positive with a few more wins to add to an already impressive record. “As the season comes to an end soon, I could not ask for a better group of girls to play with. The seniors will definitely be missed and we will be strong for next year,” junior Rachel Orler said.

V: The track squad continues to jump and Boys Record: 0-4 hurdle throughout the season as the team gears up for the county meet at the end of the season. In a recent meet, the Panthers faced off in the regional meet, in which Javion Boyd took second in shot put with a 43-07.5, sending him to states. Junior Rickey Shackelford personally finished third overall in the 400m time with 52.2, missing second place and states by just 0.3 seconds. With just about one week left in the regular season, the team looks to finish strong. “We have been working hard with the young talent we have in hopes of having a bright future,” Shackelford said.

Girls’ Softball

JV: JV Record: 5-10 Softball for the junior varsity has not been all too favorable Varsity Record: thus far. They 4-13 head into their final weeks of the season with a .333 winning percentage. They lost one of their most recent games at home against a tough Port Huron group. With only a few games left to play this year, the Panthers look to play spoiler to another team, hopeful of a playoff berth. V: The varsity softball team is currently sitting on a .235 winning percentage and are out of playoff contention. Most of this season has been a Troy Frank forgettable one, but the games they won, however, Junior Bailey Noble looks to have been very memorable. One of the biggest field a groundball during a game surprises of the season was defeating an undefeated earlier this season. Port Huron team halfway through the season, giving them their first loss of the season. The girls’ also recently defeated Lamphere on the road on May 19 by a final score of 3-2. Even though the record might not say too much, the girls played tough this year, and look to finish big. “The team did really well, I am extremely proud of the team; especially for winning our game against Port Huron because they were undefeated before us, and I am just beyond proud of everyone for not giving up and always working their hardest,” junior Haley Kavalar said.

Boys’ Baseball JV: For first head coach Mark Baldes, the JV squad has had a decent season to say the least. The team’s current record going into the final games of the season is nine wins and five losses. They will look to end on a high note and will likely have a winning record when it is all said and done. V: The varsity Panthers came into this season with a huge goal; to win a third straight MAC Silver Division Championship. That is something that has not been done in a long time. With a lock-down rotation that includes senior Evan Gates’ masterful win on Monday and John Reardon’s no-hitter a few weeks ago, along with their scorching-hot, high-powered lineup, they were in terrific position to see their goal through fruition. They clinched the championship on May 16, with their win against Clawson at home. This milestone will shuffle them right into the playoffs. They beat Clawson gain three days later, and is now sitting on a tremendous .875 winning percentage. “The whole team has completely come together. We are just a team of good friends who are always picking each other up and pushing one another to do better. Our pitching is really excelling this year,” junior Dylan Rochon said.

JV Record: 9-5

Varsity Record: 15-2 (12-0 Division)
