Valedictorian
Salutatorian
Our class of 2016’s valedictorian is Eryn VanderVlucht. While maintaining a 4.302 GPA, VanderVlucht played varsity softball, was a secretary in Student Assembly, and a member of the Travel Club and National Honor Society. On top of that, outside of school, she volunteered at Focus Hope, the Hazel Park Animal Shelter, and was a pitching coach on multiple occasions. VanderVlucht will be attending Albion College for four years, then transfer to Michigan State University to become a veterinarian. While in college, she will major in biology with concentration in pre-veterinary medicine. Eryn plans to continue volunteering while in college. “Work hard and get involved, because if you don’t you’ll regret it,” VanderVlucht said.
3. Morgan Barbret will be attending Central Michigan University. Barbret plans to double major in English literature and psychology. She plans to become a motivational speaker and a life coach. While attending RHS, Barbret was in JV softball, varsity softball, marching band, Envirothon, Tectonic Leadership, Pep Band, symphonic band, jazz band, National Honor Society, newspaper, and news and broadcasting 2. Barbret also participated in leadership conferences including MyLead, L-Camp, National Student Leadership Conference, Tetonic Leadership, Positive Diversity, and many others. Barbret maintained a 4.171 GPA.
6. Austin Terry plans on attending Wayne State University to pursue a career in chemical engineering. In RHS, he has been in auto shop for three years putting engines together and working on cars for Autorama. He also participated in the Drive One after school program. His GPA was 4.05.
9. McKenzie Garbarino plans on attending Oakland University to major in pre-physician assistant to become a Physician Assistant. She also plans to minor in psychology. McKenzie took part in RHS marching band where she was trumpet section leader. Her GPA was 4.005.
Constance Birchall is our class of 2016’s salutatorian. She ended her high school career with a GPA of 4.186. While in school, Birchall was in HEAT club, marketing, a volunteer volleyball coach, and also worked at the Roseville Recreation Center. Birchall will be attending Aurora University in Illinois to major in business administration and management, with a minor in philosophy. Birchall plans to become a wedding planner. “Go to all the football games; it might be cold, but that’s what you’re going to remember after you graduate,” Birchall said.
4. Amanda Schultz was section leader in marching band, and was in Drama Society. Schultz will be attending Central Michigan University to major in electrical engineering, and minor in computer science. Schultz maintained a GPA of 4.110.
5. Alyssa Schultz was on the dance team, symphonic choir, Dazzle! show choir, chorales, and Drama Society, who mostly recently played Sandy Dumbrowski in spring the play Grease. Schultz will also attend Central Michigan University, to study general education. Schultz finished high school with a GPA of 4.095.
7. Madison Wyatt plans on finishing her Associates of Arts degree through the Early College program of Macomb Community College. After Macomb, she plans on transferring to Oakland University to major in elementary education. Outside of school, she works as an Administrative Assistant at Surface Protection International. Her GPA was 4.047.
8. Lucinda Vang will be attending Eastern Michigan University to major in Dietetics. She aspires to become a dietician after her studies. While at RHS, Vang participated in the journalism program for four years. She became Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper staff her senior year. She also participated in French club and RHS cares. Lucinda’s GPA 4.010.
10. Amber Bianga will be attending Oakland University to major in Nursing and minor in psychology. At RHS she enjoyed being in choir. Bianga’s GPA was 3.999.
