KENNETH HADDIX
KNOX, IN - Kenneth Haddix, 57, died Tuesday, September 24, 2024 in La Porte, Indiana. He was born January 27, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Donald and Stella Mae (Turner) Haddix.
Kenneth served in the US Marine Corp. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, working and spending time with his family.
He is survived by two daughters: Cassie (Michael) Garbas and Caitlyn Haddix, both of Knox, one son, Cody (Kristina) Haddix of North Judson, Indiana, seven grandchildren, one brother, Johnny (Amber) Haddix of Traverse City, Michigan, one sister, Erica (Michael) Reed of Knox and his companion, Rachael Kuchel of Grovertown, Indiana. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie Haddix.
Services were held Friday, September 27, at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel. Arrangements were made by Braman & Son Memorial Chapel in Knox.
VIRGIL D. REDLIN
KNOX, IN - Virgil D. Redlin, 83, died Tuesday, September 24, 2024, in La Porte, Indiana. He was born November 25, 1940 in Winamac, Indiana, to the late Carl and Ruth (St. Peter) Redlin.
On February 1, 1964, in Logansport, Indiana, he married Beulah MinixBradley.
Virgil was a previous Boy Scout Leader. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his excess vegetables with neighbors and friends and spending time with his family. He had worked as a laborer for Gariup Construction in Gary, Indiana.
He is survived by his wife, Beulah “Boots”, two sons: Rick Bradley of Plymouth, Indiana and Tony Bradley of Knox, eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, one brother, Garry Redlin of North Judson, Indiana and one sister, Bonnie (Gary) Minix of Winamac. He was preceded in death by siblings: Dean and Carl Redlin Jr., Darleen Redlin, Linda Bailey and Lyla Beauchamp.
Services were held Monday, September 30, at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, with Brother Paul Day officiating. Burial was in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox.
Arrangements were made by Braman & Son Memorial Chapel in Knox.
WANDA ULICNY
NORTH JUDSON, IN - Wanda Ulicny, 78, died Thursday, September 26,2024. She was born June 2, 1946, in Lackey, Kentucky to the late Corda and Macie (Lewis) Caudill. On May 2, 1964, she married Robert Ulicny Sr. Wanda spent many years working at the drapery store in Toto, Indiana. Her family meant the world to her.
She is survived by two sons: Robert Jr. and David Ulicny, six granddaughters, five great grandchildren and brothers: Denver (Brenda) Caudill and James (Alberta) Caudill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert and siblings: Bill, Delmer and Bennie Caudill, Wilma Conley and Bobbie “Pug” Childers.
Services were held October 1, at O’Donnell Funeral Home. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery in North Judson.
Arrangements were made by O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc. in North Judson.
FRANK JOSEPH AMIDEI
NORTH JUDSON, IN - Frank Joseph Amidei, 97, died Monday, September 30, 2024, at his home. He was born November 7, 1926 to the late Frank and Lena (Montanelli) Amidei. On January 26, 1952, in North Judson, he married Norma R. Lain.
Frank was a 1945 graduate of North Judson High School. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the American Legion Post 92 in North Judson for over 75 years, where in 2019, he was awarded a plaque for being a Senior Honor Guard participant for years. He was also a member of SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was a long-time member of the Starke Co. Democratic Central Committee, holding the office of treasurer for 27 years, Elected County Clerk and County Recorder. He had been a part time Veteran Service Officer, a member of the Mint Festival Committee for many years and the Grand Marshall in 2022. Frank was a loyal follower of all NJSP sports and was awarded the Richard and Kareen Nielsen award in 2017. He enjoyed watching Notre Dame, the Colts and the Chicago White Sox, walking, fishing, relaxing in his hammock and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children: Pat Coldiron, Margie (Dave) Born, Larry (Jodi) Amidei and Debbie (John) Glass, thirteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Norma, infant daughter, Barbara, three sisters and one brother Visitation from 4-8pm CT on Thursday, October 3 with Funeral Services at 10:30am CT on Friday, October 4 at the O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc. Memorial contributions may be made to NJSP Athletic Association, American Legion Post 92 or the North Judson Park Board.
Arrangements were made by O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc. in North Judson.
