Our mission at the Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce is to enhance the Syracuse-Wawasee community by engaging and advancing our member businesses� Beyond that we aspire to be a community where businesses flourish, residents thrive, and visitors are inspired�
2024 was a year of many great accomplishments in our community and within our Chamber� We saw the completion of the Chamber building renovations thanks to so many of YOU and our local contractors who donated time and materials to make this community building something to be proud of� We saw record turnouts at many of our Chamber events and we now have a record number of Chamber members�
As we look to 2025, we are excited to continue growing from our past accomplishments� We expect to see many new developments begin within our community this year and we look forward to celebrating all our Chamber members’ accomplishments throughout the year� The Chamber is only as strong as each of its members and we look forward to working with and collaborating with every one of you throughout this year�

The SWCC Foundation, Inc is a separate 501c3 entity within the Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber which provides special options for community donations and grant funding to support the SyracuseWawasee businesses and community in the areas of arts, education, economic development, and community development�
Through the SWCC Foundation several projects are in plans or in process including the mural project, and the canoe project� SWCC continues to deliver vital resources that make our community a place where visitors are inspired and businesses flourish�
THE CANOE PROJECT
Our Canoe Project has become a well-loved addition to our community. Each canoe has its own story whether it be a memorial dedicated to a loved one who called Syracuse home, a community member who has been recognized for their dedication to our community, or one honoring a group like our local veterans.
This year we are partnering with the Wawasee High School’s Art and Welding Departments to expand and rejuvenate The Canoe Project. As funds become available, each canoe will become a work
of art, proudly displayed at various locations around town, resting on elevated platforms. With our talented local students, each canoe will tell a story through art, dedicated to the canoe’s honoree.
