GREGORY ANDREW STOLL

NORTH JUDSON, IN - Gregory Andrew Stoll, 59, died unexpectedly on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Jesse Brown VA Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He was born October 10, 1964, in Knox, Indiana, to the late John and Bonnie (Joyce) Stoll. On July 1, 1989, he married Carla White.

Greg was a 1983 graduate of North Judson-San Pierre High School and a veteran of the US Air Force. He retired from the North Judson-Wayne Township Volunteer Fire Department after 25 years of service. He loved spending time with his family camping, fishing and vacationing. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Carla, one daughter, Stephanie Brown, one son, Adam Stoll, three grandchildren, one sister, Bonita (Genes) Godsey and two brothers: John Stoll and Mike (Shelly) Stoll. He was preceded in death by one sister, Yvonne Stoll.

A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 13, at the O’Donnell Funeral Home. Donations may be made to The Alpha-1 Foundation, The Tunnels to Towers Foundation or the Gary Sinise Foundation.

Arrangements were made by O’Donnell Funeral Home, Inc. in North Judson.

MARGARET ANN MILLER JOHNSON

EVANSTON, IL - FORMERLY OF NORTH JUDSON, IN - Margaret Ann “Sue” Miller Johnson, 64, died tragically on Monday, September 2, 2024. She was born February 5, 1960, in Chicago Heights, Illinois to the late Clell and Rita (Teutemacher) Miller. Margaret graduated from North Judson-San Pierre High School in 1978 and from Valparaiso University in 1982. She was an accountant and talented public speaker. Margaret enjoyed reading books, playing board and card games (she was great at Rummy), listening to music, especially Barry Manilow, the movie “The Sound of Music” and she was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. She cherished her friendships with all involved at Connections for the Homeless. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by three sisters: Minner (Steve) Fites, Eliza (Glenn) Brodbelt and Mary Ann Sallee and one brother, Robbie Sallee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Emil Johnson and her step father, Bob Sallee.

Visitation from 12 Noon to 2pm EDT on Saturday, September 21 at Frain Mortuary with a memorial service held at 2pm, with Celebrant Ashley Young officiating. Private burial will be in the Highland Cemetery in North Judson. Memorial contributions may be mad to Connections for the Homeless.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac, Indiana.

GLORIA N. NUDI

FRANCESVILLE, IN - Gloria N. Nudi, 87, died Sunday, September 1, 2024 in Francesville, Indiana. She was born August 4, 1937, in Hammond, Indiana, to the late Martin and Maymi Lange.

Gloria had worked as an accountant. She is survived by two sons: Jeff (Angela Shaner) Nudi of Devide, Colorado and Michael Nudi and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Nudi and siblings: Martin Lange and Beverly Jansma.

No services at this time.

MARLENE JOYCE NELSON

ELMHURST, IL - FORMERLY OF WINAMAC, IN AND GRIFFITH, INMarlene Joyce “Mar” Nelson, 85, died Saturday, September 7, 2024. She was born February 13, 1939, in Elbow Lake, Minnesota, to the late Gustav and Esther (Struck) Bensch. On June 28, 1957, in Nashua, Minnesota, she married Arnold “Arnie” Nelson. He died September 11, 2010.

Marlene retired in 1998 after 28 years as the school secretary at Wadsworth Elementary in Griffith. She enjoyed cooking and canning pickles and earned the name of “The Pickle Lady”. She also enjoyed watching hummingbirds. She was actively involved with the VFW Auxiliary Post #1728 in Winamac, where she enjoyed cooking for events and helping with the weekly bingo game. She loved being a grandma and enjoyed visits with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by two sons: Mark (Diann) Nelson and Matthew (Christine) Nelson, one daughter, Kay (Darrin Doan) Nelson, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Bruce Nelson and siblings: Dorothy Bratton, Delorse Lohse and Lester Bensch.

A graveside service will be held at 11am EDT on Friday, September 27, at the Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition) in Winamac. A celebration of life with be held at 12 Noon to 3pm CDT on Saturday, September 28, at 100 South Restaurant in Elmhurst. Memorial contributions may be made to AdventHhealth St. Thomas Hospice.

Local arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

MARIANNE L. EATON

KNOX, IN - Marianne L. Eaton, 87, died Sunday, September 8, 2024 in La Porte, Indiana. She was born August 30, 1937, in North Judson, Indiana, to the late John and Fannie Mae (Bartlett) Howard. On May 2, 1959, she married George Eaton. He died on April 4, 1991.

Marianne was a executive assistant at the Kentucky Fried Restaurant in Knox. He greatest passion was spending time with her family.

She is survived by three sons: Richard (Annette) Eaton of South Bend, Indiana, Keith and Kevin Eaton, both of Knox, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by siblings: John Howard Jr., Nancy Howard and Dorothy Howard.

Gravedside services will be held Monday, September 23, at 1pm in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox.

Arrangements were made by Braman & Son Memorial Chapel in Knox.

GLEN A. ZELLERS

WINAMAC, IN - Glen A. Zellers, 70, died unexpectedly Thursday, September 12, 2024, at his home. He was born January 13, 1954, in Winamac, Indiana, to the late Alvin B. and Emma E. (Sahloff) Zellers. On June 10, 1978, in Winamac, he married Kathy A. Nicolas.

Glen was a graduate of Winamac High School. He worked many years at Galbreath’s and the Pulaski County Public Library before retiring. He was a lifelong member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church. He loved his family very much.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy, two daughters: Amanda K. (Brian) Kistler of Winamac and Beth A. (Benjamin) Christian of Noblesville, Indiana, three grandchildren and one sister, Bertha A. Kelsey. He was preceded in death by siblings: Alvin H. and Ben E. Zellers and Emma Lou Nielsen.

Services were held Monday, September 16, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, with Pastor Tom Woodley officiating. Burial was in the Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition).

Memorial contributions may be made to Winamac Boy Scout Troop #229 or St. Luke Lutheran Church Sunday School Fund.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
