IPMI designed this program to provide a dynamic professional development experience for our community—one small enough for a different kind of educational opportunity and networking.

This is a transformative time for all of us, as parking, transportation, and mobility professionals expand their careers while planning for the future of the industry.

Addressing the topic of mental health continues to present a significant challenge for parking leaders. In this session, we will discuss where mental health fits in the wellness and wellbeing continuum and how leaders can more effectively help themselves and others. Expect to leave with a fresh perspective and a list of actionable ways to drive improved mental health at work.

Dysfunction Junction: What’s our Malfunction?

Presented by: Cindy Campbell, International Parking & Mobility Institute Team dysfunction can be the Achillies heal of any organization. Some of the common indicators of a broken team include employees unmotivated or unwilling to collaborate, the inability to complete projects in a timely manner, overall job dissatisfaction, and high employee turnover. Building and maintaining cohesive teams requires courage, discipline, and individual commitment. In this session, we will discuss some of the symptoms of a broken team as well as the steps we can take to encourage open communication, healthy conflict resolution, and modeling the behaviors we want our team members to emulate.

Measure What Matters – The Power of Contemporary Goal Setting

Presented by: Casey Jones, CAPP, PMP, FLASH

Aside from cultivating the appropriate workplace culture, there is nothing more important for leaders than ensuring that their organizations are pointing in the right direction. But the needle rarely points in the exact same direction for very long as external forces, opportunities and threats change the landscape and force constant yet strategic change. What tools exist to help leaders ensure their organizations move down the right path and know which fork to take next? Some organizations use Key Performance Indicators which provide the laser-focused metrics needed to monitor performance with precision. But high performing organizations likely need something more.

In this session we’ll look at the objective and key results framework established by legendary venture capitalist John Doerr in Measure What Matters which details how Intel, Google, the Gates Foundation and other successful organizations stay on track and adjust when necessary.

Topics related to diversity, equity, and inclusion are top of mind for leaders in the parking and mobility industry. Join the members of IPMI’s Allyship & Equity Advisory Group for an important, interactive discussion on how our industry is implementing programs to increase representation and equity. Advisory Group members will update attendees on IPMI’s efforts to create awareness, education, and resources for our members, and will guide the discussion on the most pressing issues facing our community in terms of equity and inclusion. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit their questions in advance of the session as well as having the chance to pose them live. This session offers a unique opportunity to learn how greater inclusion can benefit your organization, your employees, and the community that you serve.

Active Allyship: How Pronouns and Behavior Build Belonging

Presenter: Kat Kibben, CEO, Three Ears Media

No one can thrive in a workplace where they don’t feel safe. Even in supportive company cultures, many transgender and gender non-conforming people still question their safety as they come out over and over to new teammates. The fear stops them from achieving their biggest goals.

Building belonging helps companies and careers grow by allowing highly creative, talented people to work in a culture where anyone can have an impact. How you build that belonging with actions is what you’ll learn during this session. People who have attended this session with non-binary, LGBTQIA+ speaker Katrina Kibben have said it helped them understand what pronouns mean to people and how to be a better ally by listening to real experiences.

Modern Management: It’s Not Complicated

Presented by: John McCormick, StructureCare

Today’s workforce is arguably the most diverse, spanning many generations, cultures, backgrounds, and experiences. But managing today doesn’t need to be complicated. This session will explore how business leaders can positively impact the entire employment experience and meet the needs of a diverse workforce who are searching for engagement, development, and meaning in their careers. Because, at the end of the day, there are more commonalities than differences across our workforces.

Respect for People Using Continuous Improvement

Presented by: Bridgette Brady, XCC, Cornell University

Surveys suggest present day workforces are fatigued, overworked and desire development of skills –most people want to do well at meaningful work. In the place of blaming resource constraints, adoption of a continuous improvement (CI) culture could mitigate wasteful work and create efficiencies – doing the same job smarter and providing time for meaningful activity. With all the positives in a continuous improvement culture for the workforce, why is it so resisted by those performing the work? This session will explore fear-based resistance and potential strategies towards implementing a CI culture with respect for people.

Melinda M. Alonzo, CAPP, Senior Director, Parking & Transit Services, Arizona State University

Melinda is the Senior Director overseeing Arizona State University’s comprehensive parking and transportation program. ASU serves more than 90,000 students across four unique campuses, comprised of 25,000 parking spaces with additional satellite locations and services in Downtown Los Angeles and Washington DC. With more than 28 years of industry experience, this Arizona native started her career with Ace Parking overseeing the company’s Phoenix operations before joining ASU in 1999. Melinda holds a Bachelor’s degree in business administration/marketing from the University of Arizona. She achieved her CAPP in 2007 and was part of the inaugural CAPP Advisory Board. Melinda is a founding member of the Southwest Parking and Transportation Association, serving as President from 2005-2006. She has participated on various industry boards and committees including IPMI’s newly created Allyship & Equity Advisory Group.

Emilie Aries, Founder & CEO, Bossed Up

After rising quickly in the world of campaigns and elections as a grassroots organizer and digital strategist, Emilie launched Bossed Up in 2013 to help women like herself overcome burnout and advocate for the careers and lives they want.

Emilie works with leaders at Fortune 500 companies to support learning and development, diversity and inclusion, and human resource initiatives. She has been featured in media outlets including the Washington Post, CNN Money Buzzfeed, TODAY, Vox, and more.

Emilie was ranked among such luminaries as Chelsea Clinton and Janet Mock in the LEVO 100 and received WIN’s Young Women of Achievement Award and the YWCA National Capital Area’s 2015 Rising Star Award. She earned her B.A. in political science at Brown and completed a Fellowship on Organizing: People, Power, & Change at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Emilie is based in Denver, CO and combines her political past and personal experience with burnout to help others step into their power as the boss of their careers & lives.

Bridgette Brady, XCC, Senior Director, Parking, Cornell University

As a seasoned leader in demanding roles in transportation for over twenty years, Bridgette has spent nearly ten of those as sr. director of transportation and delivery services at Cornell University. Throughout her tenure at Cornell, she has been a student of leadership and analytics, achieving several certifications. The experience, education, and development resulted in a balance of servant and coaching leadership styles integrated with a focus on data-driven, analytical approaches to system management and decision-making. As an executive coach for Cornell’s professional development programs, she assists with professional growth and transformation of others. In addition to her roles as sr. director, she develops and leads employee appreciation, data analytics and continuous improvement programs for the facilities division at Cornell.

Meagan Camp, Owner, The Modern Take

Meagan Camp is the owner of The Modern Take, a digital agency in Washington DC. She started The Modern Take in 2017 after 15 years of working in publishing as a writer and editor. Now she works with companies around the country to create intentional and powerful story-driven social media strategies.

Andi Campbell, President, WellSpark Health

Andi is a progressive executive who drives results through people. As President of WellSpark Health, she is responsible for developing and delivering holistic, total person wellbeing programs to thousands of employees across the U.S. Andi is an experienced senior HR leader. She functioned as SVP, Head of People + Culture for LAZ Parking, one of the largest parking companies in the world. You will find accolades for Andi’s people strategy work in CLO, ELearning!, Parking and TD Magazine. She was recognized by Training Magazine on their “Top Young Trainers” list and as a “Game Changer” by Workforce Magazine. You can hear Andi’s passion for people in her TEDx Hartford and DisruptHR talks. Honorably recognized as the Women in Parking Impact Award winner in 2020, Andi is also a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), Certified Yoga Teacher (200-hour), Black Belt in Tang Soo Do, Certified Intuitive Coach, and an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. She has an MS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and a BA in English.

Cindy Campbell, Senior Training and Development Specialist, International Parking & Mobility Institute

Cindy Campbell is the Senior Training and Development Specialist for IPMI. With more than 40 years of professional experience in law enforcement, parking, and transportation services, she brings comprehensive industry knowledge and professional experience to the IPMI training and professional development program. Cindy is also a Past Chairman of the Board of Directors for IPMI. She provides staff training, motivation, and skill enhancement through IPMI’s onsite and online training programs.

Casey Jones, CAPP, PMP, Senior Director of Customer Success, FLASH

Casey Jones, CAPP, is an industry veteran with more than 25 years of service in the industry. He’s been an asset owner, operator, consultant, and now serves as Senior Director of Customer Success with FLASH. Casey is a past Chair of the IPMI Board of Directors and was recently re-elected to the board after a ten-year break. He Co-chairs the IPMI Smart Mobility Task Force and serves both PIPTA and CMPA’s boards.

Kat Kibben, CEO, Three Ears Media

Katrina (Kat) Kibben (they/them) is an award-winning writer and keynote speaker known for helping hiring teams write inclusive, unbiased job postings that help them hire the right person faster.

Before founding Three Ears Media, Katrina was a CMO, Technical Copywriter, and Managing Editor for leading companies like Monster.com, Care.com, and Randstad Worldwide. Today, Katrina is frequently featured as an HR and recruiting expert in publications like The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, and Forbes. Kat travels the country in their RV while dividing time between North Carolina, Colorado, and the dogs behind the name Three Ears Media.

Debbie Lollar, CAPP, Executive Director, Texas A&M University Transportation Services

Debbie Lollar joined Texas A&M University’s Transportation Services in 1998 and serves as executive director, overseeing parking operations including maintenance, construction, enforcement, customer service, marketing and communications, sustainable transportation, and event parking. Lollar led Transportation Services’ efforts to develop both their mobility master plan and their strategic plan. Both plans were completed since 2022 and are in the implementation phase.

Lollar was a founding member of the board for the Center for Transportation Demand Management, serves on IPMI’s Accredited Parking Organization board, served on IPMI’s Accessible Parking Coalition Advisory Council, and is treasurer for the Red River Chapter of the Association of Commuter Transportation. She earned IPMI’s Certified Administrator of the Parking Profession (CAPP) designation and a Master of Science degree from Texas A&M University.

Lollar is dedicated to quality customer service, setting the highest standards for both herself and her employees. Debbie is an active member in and has presented numerous technical and leadership workshops at regional and national industry conferences. Her passion is bringing people together to develop creative, high-functioning solutions.

John McCormick, Managing Director, StructureCare

John McCormick serves as VP, Managing Director for StructureCare. He is responsible for the strategy, structure, culture, and financial outcomes of High’s StructureCare business. Prior to his current role, John worked with The High Companies as Group Controller and has extensive experience in the realm of financial strategy, reporting, and analytics. John earned his BS in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh and his MBA in Corporate Finance from the University of Pittsburgh, Katz School of Business. John resides in Lititz with his wife, Johnna, and their four children.

Executive Vice President, Pivot Parking

With 28 years in the parking industry, Gary serves as Executive Vice President with Pivot Parking, LLC. He is a Certified Administrator of Public Parking (CAPP) with a BA in Broadcasting from Eastern Kentucky University. Gary also serves as Chair of the IPMI Board. Prior to Pivot Parking, from 2007-May 2023, Gary served as the Executive Director of the Lexington & Fayette County Parking Authority. From 1995-2007 Gary gained valuable operations and management experience with Central Parking System of KY

Dwayne Norris, Co-Founder & COO, Soulful Synergy, LLC

Through his work, Dwayne seeks to address systemic issues that affect disadvantaged communities by providing transformational services, designed to improve lives and create long-term, sustainable development.

As Soulful Synergy COO, Dwayne is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, developing strategic partnerships and working with stakeholders to design programs that create impact in our community. Dwayne aids in the design of curated curricula for career advancement that encompass classroom training, hands-on vocational training, communication and soft skills training, financial literacy training, covered resume writing, and assistance with job placement and career advancement. Dwayne manages large-scale workforce development programs for government and privately funded institutions; engages community partners across the state of New York to re-design and implement training programs that have succeeded in training more than 6,000 people for careers in the green construction industry, clean energy industry, and security industry to name a few.

Vanessa Solesbee, CAPP, CCTM, Mobility Services Manager, Town of Estes Park

In her role, Vanessa manages parking, transit and fleet services. She also oversees the Town’s public EV charging infrastructure and the Town’s efforts to explore a transition to low/ no emission vehicles and equipment. Vanessa writes and manages the Town’s multi-million dollar Federal and State transit capital, planning and operational pool of grant funding.

Before joining the Town, Vanessa spent seven years as a consultant specializing in parking strategic planning and community engagement for municipalities and universities.

Vanessa has served in a number of volunteer roles for IPMI during her 14-year membership, most recently joining the CAPP Certification Board. Vanessa is also starting her second term as co-chair of the Colorado Association of Transit Agency’s Zero Emission Vehicle Committee and she serves on the Town’s Employee Engagement Committee. Vanessa lives in Estes Park with her husband, John, and two daughters Ava Fox and Ella Bee.

S. Maria Tamayo-Soto, CAPP, MBA, Parking Services Manager, City of Las Vegas

Maria leads the city’s parking system including the operation of parking meters, enforcement, planning for event road closures, lot leases, parades, marathons, and parking for special events. Working with an amazing team of professionals on centralized on-street and off-street parking functions and activities, she guides short and long-range planning for parking facilities, and guides operations to best support the city’s economic development goals. She has extensive experience in the transportation, parking, and the hospitality industry during her 35-year career. In previous positions as Executive Director of Security, Safety and Surveillance for Major Las Vegas resort hotels and as the Traffic Manager for the world’s busiest convention center, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, she was responsible for paid parking revenue and over 140 staff, working with City, State, or County entities to manage traffic control planning for large-scale operations. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Services Management and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, Las Vegas and an OSHA certification as a Health and Safety Practitioner. An active member of IPMI’s Allyship & Equity Advisory Group, she also serves as a board member for the Southwest Parking & Transportation Association.
