INTERVIEW
INTERVIEW
Your SS17 collection states you DNA as sportswear designer. How do you feel about being categorised in the sports fashion segment? It’s true. Since always, it was the segment that I wanted to work in & which I have been gladly exploring. I was always interested in subcultures with strong identities & proper codes. I think my work get back always to those interests, plus a strong streetwear reference.
The Importance To Be Andrez
“Perphaps” – as you entitled the collection – says what? “Perphaps” is about identity, gender & desire while stating a fetishist dimension, and also, transgressive. I tried to explore the fetish wear in something wearable & close to my aesthetics. I wanted some underground elements, but softer and framed in the next spring season.
Article by LUÍS DE OLIVEIRA Photo Copyrights: MODALISBOA ARCHIVE
Nowadays, fashion is much more then clothes. It has a mean, a social responsibility. It sells, above all, a dream! In the end, what is your message? The importance to be Andrez. How do you see man’s fashion? The market have been expanding quickly during the last years. In a blink of an eye, man has much more options & designers have them in the first plan. Fashion Weeks became effervescent & seems that everything is yet to happen or achieve. I anticipate that we will have fabulous summers.
How are you developing the identity of your brand? The identity of the brand is always something that is in our mind, even if intuitive. We try to take risks & evolve, while enjoying the process. In each concept, we try to have this initial freedom and at the same time, being coherent with what we want to say to people through the collection. Besides that, everything shows up naturally. Who are your clients? What kind of people would buy the lifestyle that you offer with your clothes? I don’t know who they are, but I know what interest them: comfort, design, emotions & contemporary.
Fashions change... & the address does too! Nowadays, Fashion is the mean for personality, desire & even for contemporary fetishism. From the sameness of the old times of fashion to our days of modern love, fashion has a new address & that is the fashion designer Ricardo Andrez & his “Perphaps” collection. Ricardo Andrez is from Oporto, Portugal. He studied at the Cooperativa Arvore and the Citex (School of textiles and design) in Oporto, and launched his own brand in 2006. Since then, prises & fashion weeks are always in his ‘must-did list’. So, for the first edition of the magazine, we surely wanted the sublime, but yet, transgressive designer Ricardo Andrez for an interview about his spring summer 2017 collection in our pages.
Your collections are always out of the box – thanks to God! – but your “perhaps” is completely challenging! Colours, oversized & deconstructed designs, androgen! Any hidden desire in challenging the world of fashion when it comes to man? Colour was in fact one of the parameters that we focused most as we were working in a spring summer collection. The concept direct us, mostly, for something darker, glowing & in scales of black. While, exploring also the world of vibrant colours in a fetishist way, from where came the purples, pinks & yellows. The silhouette was a hybrid fusion between oversized & the lycra suits closing touching the body. Metallic details, fringes going down on the body in an attempt to elegant seduction, sportive & unpretentious.

THE SCENT GROOMING

GROOMING
PACO RABANNE ‘INVICTUS’ When you’re in it to win, the adrenaline hits – you can feel your heart pumping, the blood rushing. You are awake. Victory is in your sight, you are ready. Bottled up and ready to strike, Invictus distills the essence of achievement. With beginning top notes of Grapefruit zest, Yuzu and Pepper, the senses are set with the pulse of adrenaline. Violet leaves and Marine Accord develop, through to Guaiac Wood, Woody Amber Accord and Ambergris Accord. You are ready.
HUGO BOSS ‘SPORT’ Wake up, activate, move, motivate, compete. The modern day man is a specimen of consistency– he competes, he challenges and focuses…so start the day right. Awoken by the scent of Hugo Boss Sport, citrus top notes wake the senses, setting the stage of awakening. Clean fresh heart scents carry the awakening, a sense of continuity and motivation challenging the lingering feel of normality. Finally, an aromatic woody base sets in, setting the tone of the Hugo Boss man – the man ready to activate, move, motivate, compete. The man ready for any challenge ahead.
VICTOR AND ROLF ‘SPICEBOMB’ The key to creativity and experimentation is in contrast and differentiation. When looking for that ‘something’ new and ‘something’ a little different, Spicebomb is the ‘something’ you have been missing. In contrasting roughness and refinement, Spice bomb proves that dissimilarity in a scent really does offer individuality. With top notes of bergamot, grapefruit and cinnamon leaf, middle notes of lavender, pimento berries, saffron and elemi and base notes of vetiver, fir balsam, tobacco accord and white leather accord, Spicebomb proves to be the perfect companion for every occasion, for the man of creativity and experimentation.

Daily Facial Treatment Article by NATALIA CATAFAU
To keep skin clean and moisturized, we must follow some routine steps. This routine will keep us having a skin free of impurities, fresh and with sufficient hydration to avoid premature aging. It is also important to use the right products for your skin type, as they can create contrary effects.

GROOMING
Here are the steps: 1. CLEAN THE SKIN: - Normal dry skins: Cleansing milk using cottons making small circles doing a deep cleaning. - Oily skin: Use a cleansing gel, applying a little on the hands accompanied by water rinse the face. Dry with a gently towel. 2. TONING: - All kind of skins: Shake the tonic beforehand to activate its properties and spray with the eyes closed at a certain distance, allowing to dry so that we return the natural moisturizing properties to the skin. - Sensitive skin: Use the same technique but we will use tonics with natural calming properties, because it is a skin very sensitive to all type of product. Some of these characteristic properties can be: chamomile, rose extract, sea water among others. 3. SERUM: The serum will help us to improve the main problem that concerns us most of our skin, but by itself does not work since it is easily evaporated and will need to be fixed by a moisturizer later. - Normal dry skin: For normal dry skin mainly the properties of the serum will be very moisturizing, giving the maximum possible water to the skin. - Oily skin: In oily skins they will provide a lot of hydration abstaining from oils and with absorbing properties of oils. - Sensitive skin: A serum for sensitive skin will provide hydration and soothing properties, because usually this type of skin is characteristic by redness and tightness. 4. EYE TREATMENT: It is important to use a cream especially for the eyes, because it is a type of skin with other characteristics that needs special care. It is usually a thinner skin and where we see the first signs of aging. This product will be applied in small quantities gently around the entire eye contour. - For young man: We recommend an eye treatment with spf 5 and very moisturizing. - For mature man: It is advised the same characteristics as the previous one but creamier to prevent the first signs of aging.
5. MOISTURIZING: Finally, to fix all products previously applied, we will use a moisturizer according to the type of skin. This will be applied in small quantity throughout the face avoiding the eyes until its absorption. - Normal dry skin: This moisturizer will provide a lot of hydration, balancing the oily part with the natural watery skin. - Oily skin: We will contribute a lot of water to the skin, free of oils, because this type of skin has in excess of oil and we have to balance it. - Sensitive skin: Apply a type of soft cream with soothing and moisturizing properties, to improve the redness and sensibility. - Mature / prematurely / aging skin: This product contains oilier characteristics to maintain the elasticity and hydration required. 6. SPF 50 (SUN PROTECTION FACTOR): Before complete the treatment, it is important for all kind of skins to protect them from the sun all year round with the sun protection factor 5, even if it is winter, because the sun’s rays are very strong and constantly damage the skin. This can be mixed and applied together with the moisturizer or applied subsequently. Once a week: - Exfoliation: Due to the natural regeneration of the skin, it generates dead cells that are difficult to eliminate, for this we will use exfoliating that helps eliminate these and improves the absorption of the products that we use daily (apply the exfoliation after toning). - For normal dry skin and sensitive skin: we can use a gentle exfoliating, applying it with gentle circular movements and then rinsing. - Oily skin: we will use a chemical exfoliate, which is applied leaving it to rest a few minutes and finally rinsing. - Mature / prematurely / aging skin: Use a product with a larger exfoliating particle, because this type of skin generates much more dead cell and eliminates it with more dif ficult. - Mask: To help maintain hydration and provide some nutrients to the skin, it is important after the exfoliation to apply a mask suitable for your skin type. It will be applied for about 5 - minutes and then rinsed with lukewarm water. We will be able to observe the results immediately after its application.
