Through Death They Parted; In Memoriam: Shearn Murphy and Alden Westby, Jr.

Shearn Murphy Westby, March 13, 1942 to Oct. 11, 2018. Alden Westby, Jr., Dec. 17, 1930 to Oct. 7, 2018

They met, fell in love, made a commitment and said their "I DO’s." Their "I do’s" had meaning, which was "until death do us part." Fifty-one years later and enduring a strong loving relationship, "through death they parted." It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of husband and wife Mr. Alden Ivan Westby Jr. and Mrs. Shearn Ika Westby nee Murphy.

Mr. Alden Ivan Westby was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather and friend. He is predeceased by his parents: Alden Westby, Sr. and Elizabeth Westby nee Garbutt; brothers: Joel, Charles, Larry, Carlton and David Westby; Son: Paul Westby and grandson, France Westby.

He leaves to mourn his brother: Lincoln Westby; sisters: Curleen Whylie, Alma Fariweather, Gloria Wade and Jane Gibbs; sons: Winston, Leopold, Glenford (Rompe), Andrew, Elvis and Jimmy Westby; daughters: Aloma Westby, Denise Boyd, Wendy, Tara (Kammie) and Deborah (Debbie) Westby.

Mrs. Shearn Ika Westby nee Murphy was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother, great-grandmother, great- great grandmother and friend. She is predeceased by her parents: Mr. Donald and Gertrude Murphy; brother: Glen Murphy, and sisters: Ancella and Cynthia Murphy.

She leaves to mourn her sister: Camella Murphy; brother: Kamden Murphy; daughters: Denise Boyd, Wendy, Tara (Kammie), Deborah (Debbie) and Aloma Westby; sons: Winston, Leopold, Glenford (Rompe), Andrew, Elvis and Jimmy Westby.

They also leave to mourn four special grandsons whom they raised as their own: Robert Westby, Brandon Rogers, Khimar Spence and Myles Godfrey, as well as 51 grandchildren, 48 great-grand children and one great-great grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at Alden Westby’s residence in Placencia Village on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018. Village. They will be sadly missed by all.
