Lyric Belfast, Pleasance, LET SCAREDY FAT

Scaredy’s working the late shift at the cinema. Tonight’s schedule? The horror movie sexual awakenings of yesteryear. Lost in steamy recollections of Jesse Walsh dancing, Carrie and Tommy at the prom and the sinful duo of Ryan Philippe and Freddie Prinze Jr., Scaredy should be in ecstasy but evil horror host Count Calories keeps cutting in on the fun. It’s finally time for Scaredy to face their fears and stop being such a big Scaredy Fat.

Come to the movies with Scaredy as they poke fun at fat and queer representation in the horror genre, asking what it means to love a genre that doesn’t love you back. We’re gonna need a bigger shirt...

SOUND CLASH: DEATH IN THE ARENA

Levi Roots presents the world's first theatrical show to bring dancehall culture and clash competition onto a mainstream stage. It’s a play with music, but not as we know it... this time it’s Reggae, Ska and Afrobeats that set the tone.

Sound Clash - Death In The Arena retells an iconic love story set in a dystopian future; where music is everything, and two warring sound systems - The Eagles vs The Thunders, fight for power.

When young lovers Ashley and Kazzandra are torn apart by family politics and musical warfare, what follows are electric dance offs and lyrical battles in the Sound Clash Arena, as death, destruction, and treachery is spread by opposing leaders using music and sound clashes, as a weapon for control of the people. Get ready to dance, as the competition begins... This show is played at max volume!

Sound Clash is directed by West End veteran Ray Shell, written by award winning novelist Alex Wheatle MBE, choreography by Jade Hackett (Hex, Sylvia, Get Up, Stand Up) and produced by Adrian Grant (Thriller Live).

Jamaican sound system culture plays one of the most important roles in the evolution of Reggae, Ska, Dancehall, Hip Hop, Grime, Jungle, Drum & Bass, Reggaeton and many more forms of music we enjoy today. I wanted to shine a light on this unsung phenomena by putting it on stage for the first time and bring it to a new audience in the theatres

Lulu Popplewell is a recovering drug and alcohol addict, failed Love Actually child actor, and now successful comedian. A sensational debut solo show about crack, sunburn, and a Christmas classic. Hello Kitty Must Die

You may think Fiona Yu is just another Hello Kitty stereotype... but you’d be dead wrong.

From the Tony-winning producer of Six and The Play That Goes Wrong comes an outrageously irreverent world premiere musical mash-up of Asian feminism with a killer score.

Fiona Yu is a high achieving, but highly disillusioned ChineseAmerican woman. She is fed up with the stereotypes forced onto her by a white, patriarchal society – namely that she is the human embodiment of a certain speechless cartoon feline.

Based on the cult novel by Angela S. Choi, Hello Kitty Must Die is a ruthless combination of sex, violence, and stilettos.
