11TH - 14TH NOV 7PM £8.50 (£6.50 CONC)
by William Shakespeare
The Shakespeare Schools Festival is the UK’s largest youth drama festival and a unique arts-education initiative. Throughout the autumn, they work with 1,000 schools from across the UK, bringing forth their interpretations of Shakespeare to the stage.
28TH NOV - 5TH DEC 2PM & 7:30PM TICKETS: FREE (NO BOOKING FEES)
A selection of primary and secondary schools from around North London will be showcasing their versions of: Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet, The Tempest, The Comedy of Errors, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, As You Like It and Julius Caesar.
Midsummer night: a time for love, magic and mystery. Four young lovers escape from the marriage matches that their parents are forcing upon them, fleeing from the city to the nearby woods. Here, unrestrained by the conventions of society – and with the mischievous King and Queen of the fairies wreaking high havoc – the young lovers slip into a dreamworld where anything seems possible. One of Shakespeare’s best-loved comedies, A Midsummer Night’s Dream takes the audience on an enchanting journey, from order to chaos and back again.

The Revenger’s Tragedy by Thomas Middleton
Drawing inspiration from Strindberg’s Dream Plays, the latest work from writer and theatre-maker Hannah Silva blends sound design, distinctive writing and innovative vocal techniques to depict the story of Sadie Jones: a young woman battling a desire to disappear from her own life. As she leads her sister and her boyfriend into the strange landscape of her subconscious, language breaks down, and expressionist motifs depict a struggle between the three, as those closest to her are pulled into the depths of her psyche.
Half-crazed with grief for his murdered fiancée, Vindice, a poor gentleman on the fringes of a depraved court, exacts his revenge on the family who poisoned the love of his life. His vengeance is planned to perfection and breathtakingly bloody as he exposes the lies, vice and corruption of the court.
Supported by the Arts Council England and the Jerwood Charitable Foundation. Developed through residences at Beaford Arts, CPT and the Bike Shed Theatre.
