On August 28, 2020 — the 57th anniversary of the historic 1963 March on Washington, when Martin Luther King, Jr., delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech, Rev. Al Sharpton and Martin Luther King, III led the “Get Off Our Necks” Commitment March on Washington. Motivated by the movement that arose following the killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police, tens of thousands gathered at the Lincoln Memorial once more. It was a day of action that demonstrated a commitment to fighting for fair policing and criminal justice.
