Alice Christina Simpson 80, of Oklahoma City, passed away Wednesday, May 04, 2022 at Integris Health Hospital. She was born Monday January 26, 1942 at St. Anthony Hospital to the late Reverend R.A. and Noble(Waller) Billingslea. Alice was a 1960 graduate of Dunjee High School in Spencer, OK where she sang in the chorus and played clarinet in the marching band. Also while attending school she helped by working at Billingslea Grocery, the family business. In 1966, Alice married Albert Simpson where they were blessed with three children, two sons, Raymond and James, one daughter, Tonya. Alice began her working career as a cafeteria cashier at Dunjee Elementary School.
She later moved membership to Fifth Street Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. N. Lawrence Liggins. Alice was a member of the Senior Choir ministry where she was notorious for leading very powerful solos such as "He Decided to Die" and "My Tribute". In the late 1980's Alice joined her FAITH with Holy Outreach Ministries pastored by Bishop Mollie Dudley. Not too long after becoming a member Alice accepted the call and became Evangelist Alice Simpson. Alice and Mother Dudley's relationship grew into an inseparable friendship. The friendship grew so strong that when Alice was leaving the house to go anywhere, she was asked, "Where are you going?", she would simply say "DUDLEYING"!!!
In 1975-1977 she became manager and director of The Kiddie County Castle Daycare. 1977-1979 she worked as a Domestic to several families. On October 30, 1979, Alice began her career as a assembly line worker in several departments at General Motors OKC plant. She maintained her employment there for 15 years until medically retiring on February 28, 1994. Alice was christened at a very young age at Isreal Chapel C.M.E. and later baptized at Fifth Street Missionary Baptist Church. In the late 1960's Alice became a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where the pastor was Rev. E.H. Hill.
Those to welcome her arrival are parents, Raymond Adolf and Noble Billingslea. Five siblings, Cleo, James, Novella, Delois and Faye. She is survived by three children: Raymond (Dionne) James Tonya; One sister, Carol Simmoms-Franklin; Eight Grandchildren: Cienna (Curtis), Brianna, Naeje, Rashaad, Isaiah, Ray, Misha, Makhi; Three Great Grandchildren: Nia, McKenna, Elizabeth (Great God-Granddaughter), Three Step Grandchildren, Marcus, Mekhi, Myaysia.
