Editor’s note: All letters received from area children were forwarded to the North Pole in plenty of time for Santa and the elves to fill orders and have everything ready for Santa’s long journey on Christmas Eve. A huge portion of the letters received are being reprinted in today’s Letters to Santa edition. Letters composed by children have not been edited for grammar, spelling or punctuation, but are being published just as they were received. Any information in letters that was deemed sensitive or personal is not being printed, however, all wishes and special requests written by local children were forwarded to the North Pole. The Progress-Index staff wishes to take this time to thank each child and school teacher who took the time to answer our call-out for letters to Santa, and we wish you all a Merry Christmas.

Dear Santa,

We have been working hard learning lots of things in our 4-yearold preschool class at South Elementary in Prince George County.

We hope everything is going great at the North Pole. Are Rudolph and the other reindeer ready to fly around the world on Christmas Eve? We would like to ask you for some presents and toys this year for Christmas.

I would also like to take my pony to horse shows. The way I would get my pony ready for shows is: give it a bath, scrub it really good, get the wet scraper and scrape off the extra water, feed it in the morning, and load them up. I would load up all of its stuff that we would need for the horse show the night before. We would leave at 6:30 a.m. When we get to the show, we would get the horses unloaded and let them eat grass while someone checks us in.
