FIND YOUR 2013

Each guest had a beautiful sign on their door What a wonderful experience we had at our inagural Find Your Lula event. It was more than I hoped for, more than I dreamed of. At the end of the retreat our guests left with a new sense of self, lots of new skills, and a whole new group of friends that they can call on at a moments notice. And they do. I have been touched by their willingness to reach out and help when someone is having a bad day or a tough time. My favorite part of the whole experience is that our participants took a little bit of Lula with them. I look forward to the next few years of Lula and passing that sweet Lula spirit on to more and more people. Not only are we making the world more creative, we are making it a more kind and supportive place. And if that doesn’t warm your heart, I don’t know what will! I hope you will join us for one of our future events. We will have a couple to choose from, each of which will push you creatively and personally. We would love to welcome you to the Lula culture, which is a special, one of a kind thing. Hugs and Fishes, Amanda Herring The Quilted Fish

The Retreat House

SWAG When our guests arrived at the retreat house, they were greeted at the door with a wonderful swag bag filled to the brim with goodies and a handmade flower to boot.

And the swag continues....slippers made for each guest in their size and in their favorite color. Perfect for keeping their toes toasty while they enjoyed the retreat.

Each guest was given a Smash Book to keep all of their notes, thoughts, feelings and memories in. We had a “Smash Bar loaded with washi tape, sharpies, fun papers, clips, feathers and so much more, where they could pick any supplies they wanted to play with. We even had Instax (the new Polaroid) cameras that they could take pictures with and have an instant memory to put in their Smash Book.

MAKE NEW Some of our guests came with friends, or knew someone that was there, but some had never met anyone there. It was amazing to see everyone bond and create lasting friendships. There was a feeling of love and support throughout the group. Guests spent one night learning about how essential oils can help you be more creative from Heather Carson.

DELICIOUS All food (except for one meal where we dined out) were prepared in the retreat house. With an entire fridge filled with the guests favorite drinks, a full selection of flavored syrups, three meals and two snacks available every day, our guests didn’t even have time to get hungry. Our guests even got to sample many of the cookies from Salt Lake cookie bakery, Ruby Snap.

ADOBE This class was a big draw for a lot of our guests. They spent lots of time learning Adobe Illustrator. Their teacher, Douglas Allen, was able to provide them with lots of one on one help. We saw lots of ah-ha moments and a lot of people breaking through the learning curve.

PANTONE i n s p i r e d

Colorful and delicious, our Pantone inspired snack bar was filled with snacks and their coordinating Pantone color. Guests could fill their personal buckets with all of the snacks and treats that they wanted at any time of the day.

Just for fun we had a needle turn applique class taught by Cori Blunt. Each guest got an adorable bag to applique on and a darling little kit filled with supplies.

OUT on THE We couldn’t let everyone come to Park City and not experience anything outside of the house! So we had a night on the town. Guests shopped and toured the city before we all had dinner together at Chimayo, a fabulous Park City restaurant. A great time was had by all as we celebrated birthdays, anniversaries and just being in each others company.

Captured by a local photographer during an early season snow, a portion of our guests enjoy Park City main street.

JEWELRY The grand finale for our event was a fun night of jewelty making. We had a huge spread of charms that each guest could pick from to make their own, very personal, very perfect momento of the event. Lead by Missy Stevens, this “cherry-on-top event was filled to the brim with eye candy and fun.
