Continued maintenance is key to your lawn’s green and healthy longevity. Mowing is the easiest maintenance practice to establish - it keeps your yard looking healthy and inviting, but it is often overlooked. It’s important to mow fre-
quently, but you should never remove more than one third of the grass blade at once. With so many mowers on the market now it is easy to find one that works perfectly for your lawn and make this task seem like less of a chore.
As the hot summer progresses, watering can be more and more integral to protecting your green grass. A lack of water can cause shallow roots and make your lawn more susceptible to winter and drought damage. If rainfall is not providing enough water for your lawn, it is best to water in the morning when there is little wind. A simple hose or sprinkler is often all it takes. If given the opportunity put some shower essentials and toilet paper in the bathroom of your new home before moving day. 2) Colour coordinate your boxes Allot a color to each room and place a piece of coloured tape on each box to identify where it belongs. Remember to mark both the top and side of each box incase an area is covered. Label each box with its content to speed up the unpacking process. 3) Stack dishes vertically To prevent broken dishes stack your dishes vertically. Try wrapping breakables in pieces of your clothing, or stuff your socks around and between them. 4) Take a photo of your electronic cords Take a photo of where cords plug in, this will cut down reassembling time in your new home. 5) Donate, sell, or give to a friend! Lighten your load; there is no point in moving items you no longer need. De-clutter!! Go through your furniture, clothing, and kitchen cabinets. Kitchen Renovations:
A kitchen renovation is one of the most obvious ways to change the look of your home’s interior. It can modernize your home and add value. When contemplating a kitchen renovation many homeowners debate between refacing kitchen cabinetry or replacing it entirely. It’s often as simple as a company taking preliminary measurements and the refacing itself usually only takes a week. Refacing is not as intrusive as a complete remodel. You can give your entire kitchen a facelift without disrupting your flooring, backsplash or countertops, and your kitchen stays functional during the renovations. Refacing your kitchen cabinetry is more than just a convenient option though - it can save you up to 40% on your kitchen renovation.
Refacing your cabinetry is not always an option. Sometimes it just doesn’t make sense, especially if your existing cabinetry is not solidly built or is worn out. If your kitchen cabinets are not high quality, it may not be worth investing more money into something that will likely need to be replaced in the future. Your cabinets may just be worn out, plain and simple, and that’s when it is time to invest in new cabinets. A compete kitchen renovation doesn’t need to be daunting. It offers a certain freedom because you have the ability to completely customize your new space and create your dream kitchen. If the layout of your kitchen is just not working for your home, you may want to consider replacing your cabinetry altogether. A full-scale remodel of your home’s kitchen allows much more room for custom cabinet size and function. It is also the better option if you are unhappy with the interior of your existing cabinets and are looking to replace with something that is solidly built and completely customizable.
