Goodness! I just can’t believe how fast this year has rushed by. Here we are already into fall with all the gorgeous colors of the season. Just looking at the mountains reminds me why I chose to live and work here. All year long we have had an influx of people coming into our area for all the amenities that the mountains have to offer, such as fishing, rafting, boating, camping, dining, shopping, festivals, or maybe looking to buy that perfect vacation spot. We continue to have a great selection of cabins and traditional homes on the market. I know that we have what you are looking for, and still at great prices, and even greater interest rates! Remember to ask your real estate agent if they are a REALTOR®. There is a difference. This is the last article that I will write as the2012 President of the Northeast Georgia Board of REALTORS®. The year has been a wonderful and busy year for me. As President, my team and I have accomplished much and made great decisions which have moved our Board forward to the next level. Hopefully, one of the things that will come into fruition by the time this article is published is the charitable foundation that we are establishing which was designed to help our 6 communities with various needs. I leave the board in the very capable hands of our incoming 2013 President, Sonja Silvers. 8 oz softened cream cheese 1/2 Cup pumpkin puree 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground nutmeg
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine ground Oreos and melted butter into a bowl until well combined. Spoon into 12 mini cheesecake cups that have been sprayed with cooking spray. Press into the bottom of each cup so the crust is flat. Partially bake for 10 minutes then remove from oven. 2. In a stand or electric mixer beat the cream cheese, sugar and pumpkin until smooth. Beat in egg, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg until combined. Pour evenly into the 12 cups filling about 3/4 way full. Spoon about a teaspoon of caramel into the tops of each filled cup and swirl with a toothpick gently. Bake for 25-28 minutes or until cheesecake is cooked through. Let cool completely. 3. Remove cheesecakes from pan and top each with a spoonful of remaining caramel and a Pumpkin Spice Hershey Kiss. Fall is here! The leaves are falling, but the housing market is UP! Folks are still coming here for the same reasons you and I live here. Great weather and nice folks. The beauty of our area is all around us. It’s a super time to get out and explore. We have so much to offer a new home buyer. The supply of nice homes has never been better. The buyer has so much to choose from. The market IS picking up. Sales are up and it’s still a super time to buy, but that means it’s not a great time to sell. The market still has ample foreclosures and short sales and everyone is looking for “the deal.” And they are out there. I’ve seen houses go for 1/3 less than what the could and should be worth. Unfortunately, what that means that the private average seller is lost in the mix.
