Associate Professor of English Ravi Shankar was arrested earlier this month after being sentenced in July to two years of probation in a fraud case. Shankar, 36, of Cheshire, faces three charges including driving with a suspended license, failure to drive in the proper lane and criminal impersonation. This incident is expected to have no effect on his teaching position, which he will resume this week after being placed on leave last Sep. by the school, according to a university spokesperson. “As with his other cases we really can’t comment on it because it’s a private matter,” said Mark McLaughlin, Associate Vice President of Marketing and

Shankar is scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior Court Sep. 19th.
