Love is in the air and not just because Valentine’s Day is around the corner, but because of Henry Lee Willey and his bride of nearly 64 years, Lamurel Willey, who are just as in love now as they were when they first got married. Henry Lee Willey, who is the third generation from the Mauriceville area, spotted his future wife at a Mauriceville cafe where she was working as a waitress. Sheriff’s Dept. gets new vehicles Penny Leleux

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office will be purchasing three new Chargers at an estimated cost of $90,015 with trade-ins of two 2008 Dodge Police Chargers and a 2005 Chrysler 300 seized vehicle. These vehicles were approved as capital outlay expenditures for the sheriff’s department. The sheriff was also authorized to purchase a 2012 Toyota Tundra for use in the narcotics division known as special services. This vehicle will be purchased with drug forfeiture money. Later, four other vehicles will be sold on the counties auction Web site to help offset the cost of the Tundra. Sheriff Keith Merritt said, “We’ll be using the county online auction for the first time. We have four vehicles we’ll be auctioning off. The reason that we’re doing that is because the four ve-

From the early days, Henry and Lamurel Willey, knew they were a good fit and they would be together for the rest of their lives.

The Bridge City Chamber of Commerce hosts its 3rd annual Mystery Dinner Theater at 7 p.m. this Friday and Saturday at the Community Center. Brandy Slaughter said they only have about five tables left for the Saturday performance and she hopes the Friday event does
as well. This is the first time they have had two performances. Friday is “family night” with less expensive tickets, kid friendly fare of pizza and no alcohol. Step back into the 70s and visit with a wacky dysfunctional family in “Reading Aunt Louise’s Will.” Will Vergil make it through the night? Will Alex? If they both die, even the order it happens in makes a difference in who benefits from those actions. It’s up to the audience to solve this murder mystery directed

The Bridge City Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting along with their monthly networking coffee at aNe Insurance, one of Bridge City’s newest chamber members Tuesday morning. Owner Alice Ellen Nickum whose initials monogram style are aNe has been a part of the Bridge City Community since August
1965 when she and her husband, Bill moved here as newlyweds. Ellen and Bill raised their three children, Angela, Alyson and John in the community and are happy that two of them, Alyson and John, still live in Bridge City and are busy raising their families here as well. They are the proud grandparents to nine grandchildren. Ellen and Bill

Dollar General has been a community minded business from the time they arrived in Bridge City.
Dollar Store Manager Andrea Allen was honored to not only accept the Business of the Month award from the Bridge City Chamber of Commerce, but she was also named the Employee of the Month.
