Arreu del món, hi ha persones que viuen constantment per a la música. Aquesta paraula engloba un gran sentiment i, a vegades dependència per alguns fanàtics. El llibre XXVII no només representa una petita demostració de tot el que van ser grans artistes com Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison en una època passada. I tampoc no és simplement una representació visual d’algunes de les seves lletres musicals. Tota història, té els seus inicis però no sempre té un desenllaç. En aquest cas, tot començà amb la construcció d’un bar amb la única esperança què no desaparegués l’ànima de tots aquells cantants per molts anys que passessin. És un local destinat a tots els seguidors en el món de la música que vulguin desplaçarse als anys 70, 80 i 90, uns anys que van marcar un abans i un després. Un espai on simplement s’intenta unir a gent de diversos punts geogràfics per poder compartir i gaudir d’una experiència músical diferent a la d’avui en dia. Aquest local està ubicat a la gran ciutat de Londres, on realment hi ha el veritable esperit del rock&roll d’aquells anys. Després de poder comprovar l’èxit absolut, tant de la pròpia gent de la ciutat com la dels diversos turistes, va sorgir la idea de fer una col·lecció del tan cèlebre club dels vint-i-set. Aquesta col·lecció reuneix d’una petita part de cançons d’alguns dels artistes importants que van deixar una marca en la història del rock&roll, del blues i del pop.

XXVII Viu ràpid, mor jove Aquesta és la descripció més representativa per al conjunt d’estrelles del rock que varen liderar la història de la música dels anys setanta fins avui dia. Van destacar no tan sols per l’increïble talent sinó també pel seu magnetisme encisador. A aquests fets se’ls hauria d’afegir, l’inexplicable coincidència de ser trobats inesperadament morts a la mateixa edat, als vint-i-set anys, en la plenitud de les seves carreres professionals. Al darrera d’aquesta maledicció d’aquests monstres del Rock & Roll hi ha molts artistes, tot i que en aquesta col·lecció només hem seleccionat a sis membres ‘vip’ d’aquest gran club exclusiu. Aquests músics no s’han escollit a l’atzar, ni tampoc per una simple preferència personal. Durant tots aquests anys s’ha pogut veure poc a poc quins d’ells han seguit tenint una presència destacable a les emissores de ràdio, o han estat anomenats en nombrosos casos quan es parlava del veritable i genuí rock del present i del passat més recent. Per tot això, aquesta col·lecció ha volgut destacar única i exclusivament a Brian Jo-
nes, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain i per finalitzar la última incorporació més recent a aquest grup de la fama, Amy Winehouse. Encara que la seva mort s’hagi produït al segle XXI, no deixa de tenir idèntica importància i notorietat de la resta. La seva fascinant veu i trajectòria era si més no, equiparable als altres cinc membres. Per a aquests artistes l’alcohol, les drogues i el rock&roll va ser una mescla que va omplir i malauradament alhora va acabar amb les seves vides. Deixant de banda l’aspecte musical, el fet característic que els unia era la seva forma de viure fins al límit i la manera en què van deixar-nos. A tots sis la fama els va passar factura, fins al punt de conduir-los al suïcidi en alguns casos o jugar amb els estupefaents fins a extrems inesperats, arribant així a prendre una sobredosi que els va arrabassar la vida.

LEWIS BRIAN HOPKIN-JONES 28.02.1942 · 3.07.1969
Va ser el primer guitarrista de la cèlebre banda The Rolling Stones. Una persona molt carismàtica i amb un excepcional talent musical. Des de ben petit es va centrar en el món de la música fins arribar a saber tocar la guitarra, piano, dulcimer, mellotron, harmònica, saxòfon, sitar, tambura i la percussió. Tot i ser el membre del grup amb més coneixements musicals, aviat es va començar a distanciar
dels Stones. Cada cop les seves aportacions dins del grup eren menors, a causa de la seva addicció a les drogues i al desacord que hi havia entre els membres del grup. Després que la seva parella el deixés per Keith Richards (guitarrista dels Stones) va entrar en una profunda depressió i al cap del poc temps va aparèixer ofegat a la piscina de casa seva.

JAMES MARSHALL 27.11.1942 · 18.09.1970 De formació autodidacte, va començar a tocar la guitarra als 12 anys. Guitarrista estatunidenc de rock. El seu geni i originalitat han perdurat de tal manera que quaranta anys després de la seva mort segueix sent el principal referent dels grans guitarristes. Va desenvolupar la tècnica i els efectes de la guitarra elèctrica fins dotar-la d’una entitat pròpia, mitjançant la saturació de
sons en els amplificadors i l’ús del pedal wahwah per generar efectes sonors. Havent servit durant un temps en l’exèrcit nord-americà, va fer els seus primers passos en el blues a principis dels anys 60, i posteriorment va trobar l’èxit als Estats Units. Però la seva adició a les drogues, poc més tard, van ocasionar-li la mort prematura.

El Rey Lagarto Les seves excentricitats, el seu amor i obsessió per la mort el van convertir en la icona de la luxúria, de la llibertat i del sexe. Després de desenvolupar la seva carrera artística com a líder de la banda The Doors, l’any 1971 va decidir deixar els Estats Units. Cansat pels judicis que van començar a sorgir en contra seva a partir d’una suposada pertorbació
de l’ordre públic, el cantant va decidir fugir a la ciutat de París. Va ser allà, on en pocs mesos va trobar la mort. La causa va ser el consum d’un còctel de barbitúrics i alcohol.
