2014 The Pennsylvania shows including the World’s Largest Terrier Show, Montgomery County Gch. Dunham Lake Touched by an Angel "Gabby" was awarded by Judge David Kirkland Best of Breed at the 2014 Montgomery Terrier Show, we thank him greatly. She was shown as always by her breeder/owner/handler Ellie Goiffon. There were 26 Australian Terrier entered. In 2013 her brother MBIS GCH Scoutmaster "Scout" was also awarded this honor, Best of Breed at Montgomery.GCH Dunham Lake Unanimous Decision "Jake"

shown by Lydia Goiffon breeder/owner/handler was also awarded Best of Breed two out of the four days and the days he did not win BOB, he received a Select award. At Devon under Judge Pia Lundberg from Sweden Jake was awarded BOB and Gabby also won Best of Opposite. Having just returned from the world show ourselves, we think Europe has some of the most beautiful Australian Terriers in the world. At Hatboro Jake won Best of Breed under American Judge Connie

Clark and Gabby won Best of Opposite. We can't thank these judges enough for these awards and their many positive comments regarding our Aussies and our breeding. We heard several times, our dogs illustrate the Australian Terrier standard. Correct size, medium boned and good movement, to name a few. While we feel truly blessed with these amazing awards, we know there were many other nice Aussies represented at these shows.

MBIS #1 Australian Terrier in America (All-Breed) GCH Dunham Lake Scoutmaster “Scout” Retires In 2014 Scout won Westminster, Montgomery and still holds the record for greatest number of Reserve Best in Show Australian Terrier. For the past 3 years has maintained his ranking of #1 Australian Terrier in America (All-Breed) many Group placements including two Best in Show wins! A huge thank you to Dr. Tim and Jane Steinmetz (owners of Scout) for their dedication to show this amazing Aussie. He has made us so proud. Thank you to their daughter Jackie Johnson for handling Scout. Visit our tribute to Scout video here.

Nellyson’s Ava Good Weekend “Snooza” Our dear friend Tina Nordgren came for a visit and brought us another treasure by the name of Snooza.

She is a beautiful red Aussie with so much to offer. Our small gene pool. While she already has one major win, she is not too interested in the show ring at the moment. We will keep working with her, but she loves being here with us and our pack.

Thank you Tina for this wonderful girl!

I had a delightful visit

with Nova’s breeder and

I brought Nova back with me to the US and she will stay with us forever. She fits out pack as if she was born here. Such a smart Aussie with a great temperament.

my friend Sylvia Knight, this past July in Nova Scotia, Canada

Last July I was invited by Nova’s breeder, Sylvia Knight to come and help her evaluate her litter of Australian Terriers. That was my mission, to travel to beautiful Nova Scotia, Canada and finally meet my dear friend Sylvia in person.

Also, her sire, is owned by another very dear friend of ours Chris Foskett from the UK, Ch. Wilfnbell Red Bondi “Tailer”. His father is Ch. Jaskarin Magic Number.

Thank you Sylvia for this special girl!

Well, I couldn’t resist this face and this spunky little Aussie, who was named Chestnut for obvious reasons her coat is the color of chestnut brown, just gorgeous. Page 4

Enomis Aussie’s From Australia join DL In October we added a new line to our breeding program from the breeder Steph Nicholson, Enomis Aussies. Three beautiful Australian Terriers arrived from Australia to Minnesota. We saw Australian Terriers from this line at the World Show in Finland and knew some day we would like to have one as well. We didn’t really plan on it so soon, but we are de-

look forward to showing them and having them contribute nicely to our gene pool here in the USA.

lighted to have them here and

Annie is living and owned by Michael and Sandra, Rugby is owned by and living with Mac and Diana and Jack is living and owned by Angie and Walter. All are co-owned by us.

Thank you to Steph for this opportunity.

Update on Natural Tails The Australian Terrier Club of America came out with a letter that was sent to all Judges. In summary, the Judges are to evaluate the “whole” dog and when evaluating the natural tail it is considered a fault, as any other fault. I found this a positive step forward, as it does give the Judges a better explanation. “We will continue to breed Australian Terrier’s in the USA, leaving their body parts unaltered.” We believe there are many valid reasons not to dock. “There are no reasons to do something intentional to our companions, that we know is not in their best interest.” Theresa MBIS AKC Breeder of Merit Page 5

The 2014 World show in Helsinki Finland Australian Terriers Represented from the USA: GCH Dunham Lake Unanimous Decision “Jake” GCH Dunham Lake Touched by an Angel Gabriella “Gabby” CH Dunham Lake Good Two Shoes “Judy”

In August my daughter's Lydia and Ellie along with their dogs GCH Dunham Lake Unanimous Decision "Jake" (#2 Australian Terrier in the US in Breed) and Bronze GCH Dunham Lake Gabriella Touched by an Angel "Gabby" participated in the World Dog Show in Helsinki Finland. Our new Champion Dunham Lake Goody Two Shoes "Judy" and our friends and her owner's Samantha Van Buren and her mom Nancy also participated in the event.

Jake received an "Excellent" evaluation and of the 26 Champion Dogs that were entered, Jake and Lydia finished in the top 10 Australian Terrier dogs at the world show.

The feed-back from many judges and breeders world wide regarding our Australian Terriers was overwhelmingly positive. Our two females placed "Very Good" and our male, Jake placed "Excellent" and of the 26 Champion Dogs that were entered, Jake and Lydia finished in the top 10 Australian Terrier dogs at the world show. We learned more about our breed, were able to spend a great deal of time studying other lines and meeting with top breeders and Judges from all over the world. It was not only an enjoyable trip but one of learning for us as well. The wonderful Australian Terrier folks from Finland we thank them all for their most gracious hospitality!

2014 World Show It was the most incredible show, with 21,000 dogs entered and only 70 dogs from the United States participating. We were the only US Australian Terriers represented. Such fun with Katrina, Nancy, Sam, Tina, Ida, my girls, just to name a few.

A trip of a life-time spent with great friends both from the US and abroad. We will have wonderful memories of this trip or friends we traveled with, old friends we met and new friends we made, forever.

Sparrow News It was a very good year for Sparrow! He is doing well, enjoying life and went to a few dog shows to meet some of his favorite people. We spent a weekend with our dear friend Dianne Wall where we all finally were able to meet in person! What a great time we had. Then as promised Jim Gersin gave Sparrow that belly rub. We spent a bit more time this year visiting nursing homes and this lady is his favorite patient who is over 100.

I think Dianne could have taken him home with her if we would have let her and I am sure Sparrow wouldn’t have objected one bit. They were instant friends!

Our Pivotal Year... Looking back at 2014 it was a year that began for many including our family, for various reasons, a year we wish could have done a “do over”. But as the year went on, it has become apparent to us, it is Dunham Lake’s most pivotal year. We know who we are, we are confident and have strong convictions and moral ethics, that has never and will never change or waiver. Our direction is clear, to continue to produce healthy, good tempered quality Australian Terriers. We are beyond words of gratitude for our many friends, supporters and fans. Thank you for your love, support and wisdom. To be recognized with Breeding Multiple Best in Show dogs is a huge honor, and we are so grateful! But to be known among our peers and our puppy families, as the breeder that is always there for them, day or night, who only breeds healthy and sound Aussies, as a breeder, that is the highest honor of all. God Bless. Theresa Our open FB page is found here. If you would like to join our private group, please email me at Theresaagoiffon@msn.com

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a very Blessed New Year! Theresa A. Goiffon, Multiple BIS Breeder and AKC Breeder of Merit
