Dunham Lake Captain Jack “Sparrow” Sparrow continues to be an inspiration to many. In 2016 Sparrow’s book was embraced and used in part of a reading curriculum at our local public school. We were then invited to be a part of their schoolwide celebration, where close to 200 children were able to meet and greet Sparrow. It was a very humbling experience and so wonderful to know this little dog and our book Perfectly Sparrow has touched so many lives in such a positive way.
Visits from Aussie friends around the world continue On October 30th we had the privilege to host our dear friend and Australian Terrier Breeder, all the way from Australia, Nicole Orr Korczynski. Her lovely sisters Karla, Caroline and her nephew Corey joined us at Dunham Lake. A wonderful time was had by all!

Mr. Darryl Vice for this award.
Beautiful Riikka and her family have done an amazing job with showing, grooming and of course just loving their girl. Very proud of them! She is the only Australian Terrier that I know of that has her own ear muffs and co-pilots for her dad David. Look for more show news to come in 2017!
Ch. Dunham Lake Golden Ticket “Darwin” Owned by: Howard Odentz and David Gilfor Handled by: RC Carusi and Emily Pikul Bred and Co-Owned by: Ellie and Theresa Goiffon
Darwin is a gorgeous Australian Terrier that finished his Championship at the Montgomery County Terrier show under Judge Patricia Keenan (not photo’d here). He finished with three 5 point majors that same weekend at almost 12 months of age. We are very pleased. Looking forward to what the future might hold for our boy!
MRBIS UKC Ch. Dunham Byron Bay “Byron” Owned by: Janet Broida Handled by: Janet Broida Bred and Co-Owned by: Lydia, Ellie and Theresa Goiffon
Byron and his mom Janet are competing in both AKC and UKC events as well as other performance activities. Byron has AKC points, but finding majors can be difficult in our breed. They gave UKC a try and have been very successful. Byron at the young age of just 12 months received two Reserve Best in Show wins and has finished his UKC Championship. Byron is the first DL Aussie to finish their UKC title. Very proud of this team and look forward to more great results in 2017.

Based on her performance with Sunny and Judy, Samantha was invited to compete in Junior showmanship at the AKC National competition, as well as the limited junior showmanship competition at the Westminster 2017 dog show. Judy has also done well in the conformation ring this year winning multiple ribbons and a group 4 placement at the Rochester kennel club dog show in September under Judge Mr. Wade. She has collected 64 points and is well on her way to her Bronze Grand Championship. Judy and Samantha were also awarded several certificates from the AKC in recognition of their accomplishments in agility. Judy was received the new titles of OA and AXJ from the AKC in 2016. She was ranked among the top 5 Australian terriers in agility in the USA, earning her an invitation to compete at the AKC National Championship show in Orlando during December, where they also participated in the junior showmanship agility competition. Many people are familiar with Samantha's trick training with Judy, and her various photos and videos of Sunny and Judy, which have captured media attention. She has written a few articles and was invited to be a contributor of trick training videos for the AKC earlier this year, which can be found at: www.AKC.org/kids-corner/kids-connect/
Along with her parents we are very proud of this amazing team! Check out their many video’s on line… you will be entertained for hours! Here is a link to Judy’s Yoga moves. A Year in Review

Show News from our current AKC Champions GCH Ch & Int’l Dunham Lake You Might be Surprised “Emma” Owned by: Michael and Sandra Fredricks Handled by: Michael Fredricks Bred and co owned by: Lydia, Ellie and Theresa Goiffon
Coming off her GCH in November of 2015, 2016 started off with a bang as Emma was rated in the top three of NOH rankings for the first three months of the NOH year. With very limited showing, Emma still finished 11th in the NOH rankings at the end of 2016. Emma spends her days with her sister Annie ridding their estate of the rabbits that seem not to get a clue that the grounds are not safe, the girls count is up to 5 now. We are excited about our breeding plans for Emma in 2018.
Enomis Born for the Catwalk “Annie” Owned by: Michael and Sandra Fredricks Handled by: Michael Fredricks Co owned by: Lydia, Ellie and Theresa Goiffon
Enomis Born For The Catwalk A championship just eluded Annie’s grasp in 2016. Annie is being handled by Mackenzie Mann and has cumulated two majors and 12 points towards her championship in 2016. 2017 should see Mac help Annie complete her championship. Annie enjoys annoying her older sister, doing zoomies both inside and outside, and going for long walks with her sister.

Dunham Lake Aussie news around the world Our very dear friend and Australian Terrier breeder from Sweden, Tina Nordgren came for a visit twice in 2016, she is family to us. We spent a month doing many shows together, traveling cross country, meeting up with many friends and as you can imagine made many great memories together. In 2016 one of our DL Aussies by the name of Dunham Lake Jamaican me Happy “Matilda” at a young age qualified to participate in the 2017 Crufts Kennel Club event. We are thrilled and so happy for Tina. Also thank you to her daughter Ida for her beautiful handling skills.
Sharing our best with Australia We have been asked by our breeder friends in Australia if we would consider helping their gene pool by shipping frozen semen of some of our Dunham Lake Aussie males. This year we agreed to ship semen of both our boy Jake and Miles to my friends and breeders Nicole Orr Korczynski (kennel Terraozzi) and Megan Scott.
The first breeding (with Jake) was a success with Peter Oswald’s girl, AUS CH Cliftop Zipping Ch Dunham Lake Scout’s Honor “Edward” Loose “Lucy” who is on lease to Owned by: Theresa, Lydia and Ellie Goiffon Megan. She will have her first Handled by: Theresa Goiffon litter in a few days under her new Bred by: Lydia, Ellie and Theresa Goiffon kennel name Mittle Sista. We are very excited and hope they have an outstanding healthy Ch Dunham Lake Scout’s Honor “Edward” is doing well litter in 2017. in the show ring but even better as a sire. His gentle spirit and gorgeous looks and conformation, was passed on to his off-spring, a litter of 4 this past year. Edward was awarded Best Bred By Australian Terrier at the Montgomery County Terrier .show. We’re working on his Grand Championship and are quite confident hat will be accomplished in 2017.

A Year of Firsts... Looking back at 2016… We know we have developed a strong positive presence in our breed and we are using that presence to help and to educate others interested in this wonderful breed. In 2016 alone we had over to 80,000 visitors to our website, since we started tracking, we have had 448,000 visitors YTD. We continue to make our site relevant and a useful tool for others. We continue to stand firm in our position on “Breeder Option” with respect to docking and we choose to leave our dogs natural. We are making history by achieving many firsts in our breed. We continue to help others by mentoring new families, and a few new breeders, in an effort to help sustain this breed for many years to come. We have high standards and moral ethics, that has never and will never change or waiver. Our mission is clear, to continue to produce healthy, good tempered quality Australian Terriers, that meet the standard. We are humbled and grateful to our many families that have our DL Aussies, to our DL “Family”, our friends, supporters and fans. Thank you for your continuous love, and support. To be recognized with Breeding Multiple Best in Show dogs is a huge honor, to be making many “first’s” this year in many area’s including performance titles, in not only our own breeding program but for the entire breed, we are thrilled! This proves just how versatile our Australian Terrier breed truly is. However to be known among our peers and our puppy families, as the breeder that is always there for them, day or night, who consistently breeds healthy and sound Aussies, as a breeder, that is the highest honor of all. God Bless. Theresa Our open FB page is found here. If you would like to join our private group, please email me at Theresaagoiffon@msn.com
