This new edition to the Vivo family comes in two colours in both the men’s and women’s design Obsidian (both men’s and women’s) Drift Wood (men’s only) and Aurora (women’s only), sizes 6-14 in men’s and 3-9 in womens. The FG in the name refers to the Firm Ground Outsole used in this shoe, this is a highly abrasive sole, with a low-profile, multi-directional lugs for traction on the trail and a sticky rubber compound coating for all terrain durability. It has a base and lug height of 2.5mm – 4mm is thick enough to change the ground feel in an urban road run but it has been designed perfectly for wet and dry and more rugged surfaces. There is a textured arch that has been added to provide a zonal grip on technical trails, whilst the concave hexagonal design adds to the grip, giving you more confidence in each step. These winter shoes are water resistant, yes we want to feel closer to nature but frost bite is a step too far, thanks to the waterresistant treatment on the upper materials. Just like many of this brands footwear they have utilised recycled PET plastic bottles into the production of the shoes, giving it a second life and taking it out of the landfill, they are also Vegan and made entirely from animal-free materials. The flexible sole provides instant sensory feedback with the bio-based BLOOM foam performance insole offering only the protection needed, the shoes feel lovely and light which adds to that feeling of a free and natural run. The Primus Trail Winter FG are comfortable straight out of the box the thin, seamless tongue rests gently on the top of the foot and the lace system evenly pulls the shoe together for a comfortable but unrestrictive fit.
