If you don’t want to rely on your phone to alert you to who’s at the door there’s always the optional Chime 2 plug in chime unit. This dinky little device can be plugged into any wall outlet and provide you with a traditional ‘Ding Dong’ audible alert when the doorbell is pressed, it can also be triggered when motion is detected outside, alerting you to potential intruders. The Chime 2 measures up at 92 x 31 x 44.8mm making it easy to find the perfect location, it then simply connects directly to Wi-Fi for a wire-free installation. As an added bonus there is a built-in siren that can be set up to sound either automatically or manually from the Arlo App, you can use this to scare off trespassers or to gently encourage guests its home time, it’s up to you. There is a variety of melodies to choose between, from a classic tone to something a bit more out there, there are seven in total, if you have multiple doors/doorbells you can allocate a different melody to different doors. This chime is compatible with both the Arlo Essential Video Doorbell Wire-Free and the Audio Doorbell.
