Unlike some carpet washers which involve holding a trigger down to wash and releasing to dry, the motion sense technology does everything automatically, simply push forward to wash and pull back to dry. The FLEXFORCE Brushbars have flexible bristles which distribute the cleaning solution and water deep into the carpet fibres whilst agitating and lifting dirt and stains ready to be sucked up on the dry cycle. The Auto Mix provides the correct combination of solution and water without measuring, the cleaning tank offers 3.5L with the dirty tank delivering 1.9L which will need emptying out more regularly. The solution tank can be fully removed from the SmartWash in rinse mode when you just want water. The SmartWash is easy to manoeuvre around the house, it is a bit heavy at 7.4kg but glides about without too much effort, if your pets are scared of the vacuum cleaner, they will think this is the end of days, it certainly isn’t quiet. The noise is worth it for how lovely and clean the carpets come up, they are left smelling fresh, they are a little damp afterwards but after a few hours they were fully dry. If you have pets or your carpets see a lot of traffic with shoes on it could well be worth the investment. The SpinScrub was handy for the stairs as well as sofas and foot stools. However, it is worth bearing in mind it takes up quite a bit of space for something you probably won’t be using weekly.
