!!!!!!!!!FEBRUARY!2015! volume!14! ! !
Chantel Atkins (CEO/Owner) I started The Rhythmic Lounge in December 2010. At its start, it was a fairly simple website with the purpose of giving people a place to promote their talents and network. I had no idea that less than two years later it would transform into something much bigger. The website then underwent a complete revamp in July 2011, with a brand new look and the addition of many new features, including the creation of The Rhythmic Lounge Radio. Following suit, the radio started out as merely a 24/7 stream of hand-picked music submitted by talented musicians from the website but is now an integral part of the company. Listeners from all over the world tune in regularly to hear the wide variety of music, as well as the educational, musical and talk-radio shows that we now host. The radio’s success has only made me realize The Rhythmic Lounge could take me in new directions everyday rather than the other way around, which is why a digital magazine seemed like the next step. I’m incredibly proud to present to you hardworking artists and entertainers in this magazine and on the site, so enjoy! Be sure to go to www.therhythm iclounge.com to see the profiles for the great talent displayed in this issue and take a look at our new magazine site at http://w w w .trlm agazine.com Thanks for the support, and happy reading!

DaForce Dawg
(Unknown Source Music)
Los Angeles, California
DaForce Dawg is known for his free-flowing rap style over hitting hip-hop beats. At the tender age of five, DaForce was introduced to his first instrument, the guitar. By age nine, he was introduced to drums. Neither instrument was enough to satisfy his thirst for musical knowledge but they helped shape his producing skills and aspirations. He started his first band at 10 and took part in grade school talent shows. The breakthrough of rap/hip-hop music on the mainstream played and instrumental part in his adolescent years. Artists like Run DMC, LL Cool J, Erik B and Rakim etc. became influential in his music direction. Writing lyrics all day made it difficult to concentrate on schoolwork. DaForce’s first home studio was the beginning of many early demos. DaForce came out with his first single in 1994. Then a second single and an EP a few years later. He is currently about to drop his third single to support his video. The full-length album will follow shortly after. His skills as a producer has made artists. Teri
- Breathless Kiss
Toronto, Canada / London, UK
Canadian/UK recording artist Teri’s new single, “Breathless Kiss,” has been stirring radio playlists in the United Kingdom, Caribbean and the United States – penetrating global airwaves with a unique sound that exemplifies the newly-blossoming pop-reggae genre. Teri’s single was produced by Kemar ‘Flava’ McGregor, architect of the pop-reggae formula that created chart hits for pop celebrities Musiq Soulchild, Syleena Johnson and Maxi Priest in recent years and is available on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify. Teri currently has eight other singles currently released on iTunes: Whispery Conversation, My Every Thing, Beautiful Hurts, Not Just Another Girl, Sweet Baby, Put It On Me’ (ft Lego Banton) I’m Free and Bring it On Home to Me. Teri’s versatility has allowed her to sing any genre of music. Being inspired by great artists such as Sam Cooke, Celine Dion, Gladys Knight, Whitney Houston, Reba McIntyre, Tanya Stephens, Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Jessie J, and Adele —Reggae, R & B, Dancehall — she delivers music that audiences would call eclectic or fusion. Breathless Kiss tells the story of a couple struggling emotionally in their relationship, and not feeling able to give or receive the support that is so obviously required. I definitely feel that this will be my breakout single. “There are many different sides to Teri, and I would love audiences to discover them through my music,” she declares. She is vigorously promoting Breathless Kiss nationally and internationally (UK, Jamaica, Japan, Canada, the US, Europe, and YouTube) and is looking forward to being booked for shows worldwide. Marion'Forget' ' Ontario, Canada
My dad who was a draftsman, had an unique and inspiring way to channel the energies of a hyper little girl, he would hand me a huge piece of drawing paper and some pencils so i could draw while he worked on his current project. Since, i cannot remember a time without a pad or lose paper and pencil as my constant companion. Though i did not have any formal art instruction until high school. I was exposed to arts with books and material and crafts, with my mom who designed and made craft ideas from mini Santa's to fancy embroideries. The art and creativity was a big part of my childhood. After starting another art course, the demands and rewards of motherhood saw to it that it was put on the back burner but always simmering. When i wasn't doing art, i was always doing some kind of creative activity from model building to crochet, designing my own patterns. in time, when circumstance allowed, i went back to school. One diploma at Academy of Learning for Pc Support Specialist, then the second at Niagara College For Graphic Fundamentals And Fine Arts. My influences range from Neolithic to 19th century impressionist art on up to present day. You will see i have taken to the impressionist period and can see the influences in many pieces of my work. Little incidents in just living an ordinary life spark a creative drive to a new painting or piece that emerges from that speck of inspiration. The past 4-5 years has been both a blossoming of output on a mooded commercial success. The critical acclaim spurs my creative drive to continuously push back the boundaries of my art. I cannot know where my art will take me but i do aspire to exhibit in places like Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver as well as stepping out of Canada to enter the international art world with a first stop to New York City. My ultimate goal is to become an internationally known artist. Marion was also recently chosen to be included in the Norman Felix Gallery… “Norman Felix Gallery is an independent art gallery located at 445 Adelaide Street. Founded in 2006, Norman Felix Gallery has steadily expanded to represent a variety of over 100 talented Canadian artists. We offer an array of contemporary paintings, photographs, illustrations, and sculptures by both emerging and established independent artists. Our collective showcasing program is ground breaking and focused on Canadian Artist.” For commission, contact me at mar_forget@yahoo.ca website http://mydesignsstudio.com facebook https://www.facebook.com/pages/My-Designs-by-mar/243157785736691 linkedin http://ca.linkedin.com/pub/marion-forget/43/17b/906 twitter https://twitter.com/mar_forget google plus https://plus.google.com/107126130074203501293

Allan Louvre Lubbock, Texas
This story of mine began in September 1996,when I listened to my first ever rap song, 2Pac’s “Life Goes On”, the day after he died in a Las Vegas hospital. Rap music was my love for many years. The late nights listening to the radio, videotaping BET’s “Rap City”, hiding my CDs from my dad because they had a sticker on them, hell, the first time I heard a Biggie song with curse words, those are moments Ill never forget. Anytime life got me down, music (often with a beer and/or blunt !) was there to lift me up, or keep me sane. My struggle with depression, loneliness and addiction got the best of me, landing me in a jail cell broke and alone, with an uncertain future. Here I turned to writing verses as my solace. I still keep them in a pile of notebooks in a drawer, memories of who I was then and all the places I’ve been. Although being a rap superstar might be too daunting a task right now, since there’s a million rappers on the Internet, I am a lot more confident and realistic in my ability to produce. My ear for music is well refined and pretty unique if I say so myself, and I try to reflect it in my work. I incorporate rap, EDM and other styles into my production, a reflection of my repertoire of musical tastes I’ve acquired through the years. I listen to everything from Daft Punk to 2 Chainz to Led Zeppelin to Texas Country to Byzantine Chant- I try to adapt to all situations and all people, and I look forward to seeing new places and making new fans from all walks of life. Music is just the beginning for my creativity. I want to use it as a platform to reach people across the world with my perspective on life, from all the years of struggle I’ve endured. Do we seek to be remembered in life, because we never endured? If you’re on the same wavelength, check out my music and hit me up, on any of my pages, I’ve got them all…#allanlouvre. Because the rest of my life will be full of masterpieces !!!! For more information about Allan, please visit http://www.reverbnation.com/allanlouvre
Andrea Lin AKA SuperDoll By Ross 'R.G. Major' Guity Taipei, Taiwan/New York, New York/Los Angeles, California
The creative, physical art of Dance is unlike no other in the universe, and there is no one on planet Earth who distinctively personifies this better than the incredibly talented, gifted, versatile, electrifying and prolific dancer/choreographer Andrea Lin aka SuperDoll. Having performed in music videos with the likes of Britney Spears, Madonna and many other iconic recording artists in the past, SuperDoll has taken her immense talents to even higher heights by way of her genius creation of the sexy, high-energy, 'Girl Power' experience that is 'Dance A GoGo' back in 2004. Outside of her innovative exploits on the dance floor, SuperDoll is also on the threshold of making her mark as a premier music recording artist and songwriter as well, and the talent she possesses on that front is incredible thus far with a lot more to come! We at TRL magazine caught up with Lin to discuss Dance A GoGo and more. Ross Guity (TRL): How would you put into words the positive impact that 'Dance A GoGo' has had on you personally and to those who have been a part of the movement over the past 11 years to date, and what more can we anticipate going forward? Superdoll: 'Dance A GoGo' is a life-changing experience, and the women that have been empowered as leaders and students - myself included - are extremely blessed to have shared a journey of such a big concept, which I call 'big love.' It's the kind of love that ceases war and creates peace; it's the kind of love that elevates mankind and connects us all. We have a mantra and a chant, and it goes like this: 'Be a hottie in your own right...Girl Power! Just dance a go-go!'. You have to experience it to believe it, and anyone stepping into the room of a DAGG chant is bound to be swept away by the incredible loving energy, nobility and leadership...The movement didn't really start until about 2011-12 in actuality. However, the concept about empowering women came about in New York City back in 2005 when I had a belief about women loving one another without competing against each other. I don't enjoy haters, so I decided to broadcast and speak out loud of educating them and giving them the skills they need so they can stop hating on others; Turn the lack thereof to empowerment....As for the future, 'Dance A GoGo' will eventually become a legacy and a ripple in the vast ocean of cultures for the audience to decide whether to take part in the movement, or jump in and create the next wave. RG (TRL): Your body is A-MA-ZING! Share with us the keys to maintaining your health in order for you to perform at your optimum best every single time out.
SD: I believe eating healthy is important. Never was I a junk food eater, nor was I an American dieter. My Asian roots give me a traditional Chinese diet as a base, which is also called Macrobiotics - incorporating Yin/Yang concept based on the energetics of the foods. During this time, I also learned about juicing, alkaline diet, whole-foods concepts - which I incorporate from time to time. Then it is just lots of dancing, really. I am completely anti-work out because doing anything without emotional content to me is just meaningless in my opinion...Looks don't drive me. Living comes first. I make how I live the directive first - not the looks. RG (TRL): As SuperDoll the singer-songwriter, your recently released single 'Love Potion' was well-received by music lovers worldwide. Can we expect more hot sonic vibes from you here in 2015? SD: 2015 will be the year for SuperDoll to create a musical collection that combines both her philosophy and performance art pieces evoking a vision that hasn't been seen before. For what music stands for in the world of art - which is intangibly empowering - it alone can change the world, and it alone with a message can live beyond our times. 'SuperDoll' is a concept that I want to create and display what supreme beauty represents; to show that women can be both exaggerated and graceful, innocent and devilish, powerful and tormented - all at the same time. It's like Mother Earth, but characterized as a female form in humanistic expressions, and I want to show that; to display what that would look and feel like. How she sounds, moves and dances. If I can establish that connection, that would be an incredible accomplishment. Be connected, inwards and outwards, this is our whole life's purpose and what brings us closer to GOD. RG (TRL): In five-to-ten years from now with GOD's blessing, Andrea 'SuperDoll' Lin will be SD: Seeing lots of adventures, performing at a lot of shows, traveling the world and eventually raising a family, of course. RG (TRL): RHYTHM is SD: A language. It represents an emotion and a state of mind. It's like a picture or photograph that project something about you and your character. Rhythm is life. Rhythm is music! www.AndreaLin.net www.DanceAGoGo.com Facebook: AndreaLinSD Twitter: AndreaLinDotNet Instagram: I.Am.SuperDoll!

The fabled city of Chicago, Illinois has produced some of the most legendary and extraordinary talent in the world of sports and entertainment over the years, but at the same time has had its fair share of tough times in regards to street violence and the troubling murder rate amongst young children, teens and adults. Petey Pyramid Kansas City, Missouri Essince (TRL): How long have you been rhyming? How did you get into music? Petey Pyramid: I've been rhyming since I was about 8. I really got serious with music around age 16 and that’s when I decided that music was really what u wanted to do but it has always been my number one passion. I wouldn't say that I ever "got into music", I think music was already placed inside me as apart of me and it had no other choice but to come out.
Essince (TRL): Talk to me about the scene in KC and MO. Do you think it has a particular sound or style? PP: Kansas City is a very small market, and that's why I moved to Atlanta to pursue music because there is just so much more opportunity. Kansas City does have a sound. It's more of a mosh pit of sounds from the East and the West, not so much south. But of course the underground hip-hop scene does have particular sound but I'm not too fond of it.
Essince (TRL): How important is traveling to different cities? Or can an artist become successful only staying in his/her city? PP: It is extremely important to travel i different cities. It does your fans as well as you as artist an injustice to only stay in your city. It's always important to try to conquer your hometown and have them back you but in order to reach the levels that I'm trying to reach as artist, traveling to different cities is a must. It builds awareness as well as keeps you working and encouraged. Kansas City has the tendency to accept an artist after everyone else around them has accepted you. The vibe in Atlanta is completely different. They actually support Atlanta artist in Atlanta and that's why so many artist are being broke out of Atlanta. Maybe my city will catch on soon but until then I'm on the go!
Essince (TRL): How did come up with your name? What is the significance of the pyramid? PP: Funny you ask. Most people just assume the illuminati and I've been questioned on that numerous times. I think it's funny plus controversy doesn't hurt. However the Pyramid signifies mystery, as well as royalty. Kings and Queens were buried with there wealth in hopes to take them with them in the after life. So the pyramid represents new life as well not just death. As an artist I may not always be understood just like no one knows how the pyramids were built but they appreciate them. Really I just intend to be monumental in this game and what's more monumental than the pyramids...
Essince (TRL): What are your goals with your music? PP: Longevity. I'm a songwriter. I'm an artist first but after the success comes and I’m able to provide for my family and really live well, I really want to write for artists, singers and rappers. That's where the check is anyways. Basically my main goal is getting the world to see I'm great. Then after that live out my greatness. Whatever that brings, I'm ready for it.
Essince (TRL): How can fans reach you and find your music? PP: Fans can reach me on my Twitter and Instagram: @PeteyPyramid They can get my music by searching Petey Pyramid on ITunes as well as download free music on my sound cloud page: Soundcloud.com/peteypyramid
Essince (TRL): Any final shout outs? PP: Shouts out to you guys for the interview. My manager, my His Swag Productions team, Royal Heir Ent, all of my family and loved ones. Last but not least my fans and everyone who has been believing in me since day one.

New single entitled “On” from Kaine B available at iTunes, Amazon, Google play and all other digital music stores…search Kaine B!
Cleveland, Ohio Kaine B. was born in Cleveland, OH and emerged on the music scene in 2009. With a sound of his own, he is destined 2 reach superstardom. His first of a 4 part series of mixtapes entitled "WITNESS DA TAKE OVER" was an opening for what's to come. So come join the FPENT family…all support is appreciated. In the famous words of Drake "If u won't be apart of it, at least you'll get 2 witness".
The Rhythmic Lounge: When did you first realize that you had musical talent and would pursue a career as an artist? Kaine B: Well I started off singing at church with my younger brother and sister, which gave me a good since of rhythm and vocal delivery. Later on in my life I wrote poetry to kind of escape from the troubles in my life but by the time I finished a poem it always seem to be in the tempo of song. So I started arranging the poems as song. I would make these songs, rehearse them to myself and I thought hey these songs sound pretty good. Then I started reciting these songs to random people I met at bus stops and school cafeterias and I was often received with applause. I enjoyed music so much that it just came easy to me. Speak from the heart.
TRL: Growing up in Cleveland, how was the music scene growing up and was it easy and inviting for you as you developed as an artist? Kaine B: Growing up in Cleveland makes it really easy for an artist like me since most of my music is about struggle and survival. How can an artist run out of things to paint if he is surrounded by beauty? That’s how I feel about Cleveland, if there is any story to be told from success to sudden death you can find it there.
TRL: Describe your creative process when writing music, getting ready for performances and shooting videos! Kaine B: When writing, I first concentrate on a topic depending on my mood or necessity much like writing an essay. The first line of my song usually is the main idea; the rest is just supporting statements. Getting ready for a video or live performance is a nerve-racking process, I never get used to it. I try to relax and clear my mind, focusing only on having fun. You would be surprise how easy it is to forget your own lines haha.
TRL: Have you ever considered expanding your creative talent and also getting involved in other aspects of music, such as producing and writing for others? Kaine B: I always think the sky is the limit. Right now I write, produce, and Perform my own music but I would love to get to work with others and expand my love for what music was intended for…Voice for the Voiceless.
TRL: What can we look forward to from Kaine B in 2015? Kaine B: In 2015 look for me to become more recognized. I just released my latest project entitled “kaineunitus” for free download on DatPiff.com. I put something on there for everyone, promise from Latin spins to motivational classics. I also will be traveling from state to state face-to-face networking with my supporters and future supporters.

Lynx Unruly Brooklyn, New York The island of Jamaica has produced some of the most talented and versatile performers music has ever known. Dancehall, a musical art form in Jamaica, boasts a plethora of entertainers who are now gaining prominence within the pop and hip-hop genres. From the Kingston/St Andrew region of the island, currently residing in Brooklyn, New York, comes an artist who is versatile in all areas of entertainment. Lynx Unruly, has been performing and recording for over a decade. As an actor, Lynx wowed audiences with his portrayal of Sammy in the movie "Krosses", as well as playing himself in the smash movie drama, "Bashment" in 2004. Musically, his lyrics are humorous and catchy...case in point, the fan favorite "Fire Escape" track, an answer to Kiprich' "Telephone". "Fire Escape" spent weeks on the US charts, and this propelled Lynx' career full throttle. t's no accident that Lynx would be involved in the music industry, as music flows through his veins. Being a blood relative to dancehall's Billboard chart topper Mad Cobra, sealed his fate. Entertaining is what this artist knew he had to do. This was his niche and where he belonged. Lynx says he is "in love with music. I proposed to music and I am waiting for the date to put the ring on it." He is not just a performer and writer, he is also a producer who produced the "Good Hope" riddim featuring new talents. He also co-produced the "River Bed" riddim, which featured prominent members of the dancehall such as, Beenie Man, Mad Cobra, Anthony B, Hawk Eye and others. Lynx can hardly be considered a dancehall artist only, however, as he delves in other genres, and is presently fine tuning a project which will enable fans to see his prowess as a pop artist as well. Lynx is also currently working with famed producer Jerome Felix, aka Jerry Dawg, so fans already know that they have a lot to look forward to musically. At the moment, the Unruly one is promoting his brand new single, "Throw My Heart Away", which features Maxwell Collins on vocals. The remainder of 2014 and the future, looks bright for this artist who has experience, knowledge and wit. His determination and demeanor ensures his success, and fans can rest assured that what's to come from Lynx is greater than what has been.

Michael Karr
by Patrick Ross
Manhattan, New York
Musician Michael Karr is one of those rare instances of humble musical genius. I spoke with Michael over the phone recently to talk with him about what inspired the music from his latest album entitled “Think It Over” on which he is the sole instrumentalist on all the cuts with one exception, the vocals sung by the late Izzy Rivera. A very warm and soft-spoken individual, it is through his music that Michael finds his best expression I believe. Inspired by his father a multi-instrumental musician who took him everywhere as a child and exposing him to various musical settings, he began his voyage through music at the tender age of eleven on his first recording dates with the Pittsburg Youth Symphony as a soloist. His ability and talent recognized by Trombonist Randy Purcell earned him a scholarship to Carnegie Mellon University. After completing his education and receiving two Bachelors degrees by age 19, he began playing and touring nationally and in Europe. Playing with a veritable who’s who of musical groups and artist, a list of which would go beyond the scope of this article, suffice it to say he has earned the respect of many great and talented musicians over the course of his career. Equally talented on both piano and trumpet, he is also an arranger, lyricist, composer, engineer, and producer. Having been signed to various labels during his career and producing a top ten hit on Billboards R&B charts with Stanley Fields cover of “You, Me & He” on the 3C label. It is the women in his life that have most inspired him, as is the case with his daughter after whom the track “Sarina (Sarah)” on his latest album is named. A resident musician in many notable jazz venues throughout New York City, and almost every club east of the Rockies – from after hours clubs, stadiums, and two Presidential Inaugural Balls. He is the leader of Michael’s Karrtet™, which features the musicianship of Ron Affif, Victor Jones, John Benitez, Randy Johnston, Alex Blake, and Essiet O. Essiet. Jazz Improv magazine has him listed as “Noteworthy Performance”. Michael Karr is the genuine, real deal, personally and musically. http://www.michaelkarr.com http://www.facebook.com/pages/Michael-Karr/29741212167 http://www.linkedin.com/pub/michael-karr/1b/3a9/2b4 http://www.myspace.com/michaeljkarrmusic http://twitter.com/alakarr http://www.reverbnation.com/alakarr http://www.numubu.com/152817-profile-michael-karr.html http://www.youtube.com/user/michaelkarr!

Talking about why he chose to create the book, Nick said: “The Cambridge Folk Festival holds a very special place in my heart. Although I am, predominantly, known for being a photographer of rock artists, so much of my career started at this great festival and I really wanted to do a celebration of my involvement in only a part of its 50 year history. “Producing a book of ‘folk’ and ‘blues’ artists could be considered to be a bit of a departure for me but there are so many images I love from my time working there that I wanted to share these with lovers of music, photography, and art, alike.” Working in the music industry for over 20 years, Nick has photographed some of the most well-known musical artists in the business and his images have frequently been featured on album artwork as well as being published extensively across the media.

Album Reviews The Q- Chemical Overload by William Kryjak
Rating:
★ ★ ★ 1/2
Hair combed, shoes shined, dressed to the teeth, The Q's latest EP, Chemical Overload, will leave you wondering how such a well kept crew can come out with such an aggressive sound. On this record they more than deliver the goods, bringing a sound that has elements of music old and new. This combination works in their favor, and equates out to a pretty solid rock record. While the group is clearly inspired by Mod-rock and classic rock sounds of the 70's, there is quite a bit of modern punk music in there as well. This creates a nice balance and helps to define their sound. With a song called “Communication Breakdown” your mind probably goes to Zeppelin, but you'll actually hear more of The Clash. This translates to some great, straight-ahead rock and roll music that's catchy as well. Another contributing factor to their sound, especially on this album, is the fact that they use no samples or multi-tracking. It's a nice break from some of the more produced things going on in music today, and they manage to pull it off while still sounding polished. What helps even out the songs is that behind the heavy guitars are songs of love. “My Life” is an upbeat song about a sad, unrequited love. And “Diamond July” remarks upon a beautiful girl, seemingly just out of reach. “She puts the sun in my hear, when it comes up it shines within me”, is sung over crashing drums and a melodic but energetic guitar riff. If there is one critique, it is not with the music but with the way they present themselves. The Q rhymes with The Who, and their logo only reinforces this image. For a band so confident in its sound, it strikes me that they might want to spend less time bringing up thoughts of other bands, and let people focus on their music. After all, it's pretty good! Listening to some of their more recent tracks, The Q is clearly developing even more. A great record overall, they certainly seem to have the motivation to keep pushing themselves to make some decent music. Let's hope they keep moving in this direction.
