BE MORE Kurt A. Mische, President & CEO

A Heartfelt Legacy In the early 1980’s, a group of dedicated people from across our community came together to secure a broadcasting license for Reno’s own public television station. Fully aware of how such a station could touch the lives of generations of northern Nevadans, this group invested the countless hours and significant funds that made KNPB a reality on September 26, 1983. The leader of this dedicated group was Joan Bradley, who with her husband William provided the vision, leadership, and dedication to see the mission through. Mrs. Bradley served as the founding Chair of the KNPB Board of Trustees. So it is fitting that we have honored the work and the memory of the Bradleys by naming our legacy society in their honor. On May 6 our annual Joan and William Bradley Legacy Society luncheon honors the Bradleys and all those who have included KNPB in their estate plans, including: David & Sharon Quinn, Gloria Cutler Eakin Trust, James Jurschak & Faith Fessenden, Lois & Len Crocker, Gerald M. Martin, Robert & Sandy Oglesby, Karen J. Swope, Rae Ann Schuster, Ruth & Charles Hopping, Whitman Kearns, Robert R. Little, Gwen & Paul Leonard, Sara M. Nelson, Terry & Linda Oliver, Carol A. Trefethren, Barbara Lee Hunt, Walter Spicer, Ronald & Madelin Ackley, Mary & Eugene Nelson, Hartman-Kanning Endowment Fund, Rose Oyarbide, Carol Colip, Joan D. Breslin,Vicki Rosen & Joyce M. Stoffey, Susan M. Codeglia, Lillian O’Neill, Robert Butler, Irene Maarsingh, Charlotte C. Smith, Janis Mitchell, Myrna Ann “Bunny” Johnson, Sandra S. Bitler, Sue McDowell, Joan Lund, George E. Bates, Bretzlaff Foundation, Susan J. Krump, James Pagliarini & C. Elizabeth Raymond, Sandra & Robert Backus,Theodore Paulson, Jay & Janet Peace, Peter E. Lui & Gloria Fitch, Fred Ihlow & Mary Catherine Beck, Jack & Catherine Flanary, Evelyn Windham, Julie Ching, William Lee Marion, Mark & Susan Herron, William Lee Davidson Marion, Amy MacMullan, Betty Ihfe, Archalee Correll, Mary & Kenneth Aaroe, Eiko & Robert Cutts, Gretchen & Jerry Freyholtz, Rod & Kim Sanford, Jack & Catherine Flanary, David & Michelle Dehls, Connie Mantini, Linda Watson, M.Wayne & Joyce Wilson, Jackie L. Leonard,Trudy Wofsey and Geoff & Sally White. We gratefully consider the loyalty, confidence and commitment expressed by these donors who have given to KNPB in such a personal way. Our sincere thanks to all of those who have made a special place in their estate plans…and their hearts… for KNPB.

“When I look at our stations around the country, there are a handful of stations that are truly extraordinary—I would say almost legendary. And KNPB happens to be one of those.” – Paula Kerger, President & CEO of PBS 12 May 2014
