2017 year end review

Friends, I am pleased to share that the Chattanooga real estate market ended 2017 in positive territory. Buyer traffic has been strong, mortgage rates continue to be low, and activity has been up across the board. As I reflect back on 2017, the first thing I think about is gratitude. I am grateful to have such a talented team, I am thankful to live in such a wonderful town and, most of all, I feel very blessed to have such incredible clients. Our clients are some of the most kind and gracious people—I am continually humbled by their generosity and thankful for their willingness to refer us to friends, family, and colleagues. Earning the trust and confidence of our clients has always been a top priority for me. When I speak with someone who tells me they were referred to us by a family member, friend or co-worker, I consider that the highest compliment I can receive. It’s because of our clients that the Robinson Team ended this year in record territory. We closed over 190 transactions totaling nearly $90,000,000 in sales volume. We sold properties ranging from $20,000 up to $1,850,000 across nearly every neighborhood and community in our market area. On a go-forward basis, I believe 2018 will be another strong year, as long as interest rates remain stable and the global economy remains uneventful and steady. Tight housing inventory remains a concern, but I think we will see a loosening by the end of the year. I very feel positive about the year ahead. I firmly believe that Chattanooga has the optimal mix of low cost of living, high quality of life and the unmatched entrepreneurial spirit that it will take to keep our local real estate market growing through the first quarter of 2018 and beyond. The good news is that 90% of heart disease in women is preventable, and efforts like the ‘Go Red for Women’ Luncheon are helping more women beat heart disease than ever before.

After rescuing numerous strays and watching them flourish in a loving environment, I began to look for an opportunity to encourage others to do the same, that is why I got involved with Chattanooga’s McKamey Animal Center. McKamey houses more than 500 animals daily—with its energetic staff and volunteers working tirelessly to find a good home for as many animals as possible. McKamey also works hard to educate the community though outreach and awareness efforts that address animal cruelty, responsible animal care, and the importance of spay/neuter programs. By encouraging a culture of responsibility and compassion throughout the Chattanooga community, McKamey Animal Center helps improve the lives of the people and the pets in our city. These are just some of the many reasons that I, and the rest of the animal lovers here at the Robinson Team, lend our support to McKamey Animal Center.
K ryst y e Da lton, Bu y e rs Specia list T H E F U S E P R O G R A M — The absence of adequate mental health care access is something that negatively impacts our community in ways that are almost hard to overstate. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says as many as 40 percent of inmates are mentally ill or have problems with substance abuse. To house those inmates, it costs taxpayers each night they stay at their facilities. That is why a broad group of community partners is getting behind the FUSE project to provide assistance in reducing the number of inmates that deal with mental health or substance abuse challenges. With the creation of this program, Chattanooga is about to join 30 other cities across the nation in developing a positive solution to address this issue. We are proud supporters of the effort.
