Let’s celebrate! I want to take this opportunity to welcome you to the 2012 Rogersville 4th of July Celebration and to my hometown, Rogersville, TN. We have worked for almost a year to plan this tremendous event. With many prayers and a lot of hard work, we are proud to present to you this year's show. We have wanted for years to have a major Contemporary Christian group as an entertainer and here in 2012 we have succeeded. Mercy Me will be performing on stage at the Rogersville City Park along with country music stars, the Eli Young Band. This will be the biggest production we have ever planned for this event!
We always want God to be glorified with this Celebration and this year we hope we are taking the next step in doing just that. By providing this event to the public for free, we hope our non profit, all volunteer organization is making a statement about how we feel and in what we believe. We want everyone to enjoy all that we are providing today and to enjoy it in the fellowship of your neighbors; to enjoy it in a fun, but safe manner; and to enjoy it with your family and friends and make memories for a lifetime! Welcome to the 2012 Rogersville 4th of July Celebration and welcome to Rogersville, TN!

Mercy Me & Eli Young Band Two groups headline entertainment this year ROGERSVILLE — The contemporary Christian band Mercy Me, along with up-and-coming country group the Eli Young Band, will headline the 2012 Rogersville 4th of July Celebration. “This will be the biggest lineup of entertainment in the history of the celebration,” Jones said. “We are very excited to announce that the Eli Young Band and contemporary Christian artists Mercy Me will be sharing the stage at this year's celebration. Never before have two major artists like this graced the stage at the Rogersville 4th of July Celebration.” Mercy Me is known by fans for the
crossover song “I Can Only Imagine,” which surpassed one million digital downloads to become the first song in Christian music to go platinum in the digital domain. They have also received eight Dove Awards, been honored by the American Music Awards and received numerous Grammy nominations. Mercy Me was also named Billboard Magazine’s Number One Christian Song Artist of the Decade in 2009. They have sold out venues including Radio City Music Hall and have been seen on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, CNN, Fox News Channel's Fox & Friends, ABC News, CBS' The Early Show, and featured in Entertainment Weekly, The New York Times, USA Today, Billboard Magazine, and more. Eli Young & Mercy Me: continued from page 6 The Eli Young Band (EYB) is more recently known for their number one song “Crazy Girl,” released last year. They were nominated for an Academy of Country Music award as the Top New Vocal Group or Duo, as well as for 2010 Top New Vocal Group at the 45th Academy of County Music Awards. EYB’s previous album, Jet Black & Jealous, debuted at number five on the Billboard Country Albums Chart in 2008. One title from that project, “Always The Love Songs,” provided that Top 10 breakthrough while the group earned critical acclaim from People, USA Today, Billboard, The New Yorker, American Songwriter, and Country Weekly and picked up television appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Tonight Show. They have opened shows for Alan Jackson, Jason Aldean and the Dave Matthews Band.
“In 2011, the Rogersville 4th of July Celebration Committee hit a home run when they brought The Band Perry to town...,” Dr. Jones said. “In 2012, they are looking to hit the proverbial grand slam.” Both performances are scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 4 at Rogersville City Park. “Last year, we had record crowds, record sales and rave reviews over our show. We have had Brad Paisley, Sawyer Brown, Diamond Rio and many others, but we have never been able to have a lineup like this,” Jones added. “We have wanted so badly to have a major Christian group at our event and, finally, in 2012 our prayers have been answered. We always give God the glory for this event and this year it will especially be true.”

Ministry will accept food, monetary donations at City Park Of One Accord Ministry will again participate in the Rogersville 4th of July Celebration. Director, the Rev. Sheldon Livesay expressed his excitement at being able to jointhe festivities again. “The Rogersville 4th of July Celebration Committee is a great group of people. They have a desire to serve our community and surrounding area with all their hard work to put on this event — much like Of One Accord Ministry. We will be at the park entrance again this year taking donations of either canned good items or monetary donations. These donations go to purchase food that is distributed through three emergency food pantries serving Hawkins and Hancock counties” he said. While food needs are at an all time high due to the economy, the emergency food
bank account is at an all time low. Food pantries across the region and the nation are facing the same plight. “We want to give God the Glory for this day of celebration here in Rogersville. We work hard year round to provide the 4th of July Celebration and we have one goal in mind and that is to provide a fun, free day for children and adults in our area. Many folks do not have the means to afford a vacation so we try our best to provide a one day of fun for them to enjoy. In that light, we are pleased to be able to partner with Rev. Livesay and Of One Accord Ministry in order to help them help others as well,” 4th of July Chairman, Dr. Blaine Jones said. On your way to the park Wednesday, July 4, make plans to bring some canned goods or a monetary donation to help Of One Accord Ministry.

Born and raised in Kingsport, Brinley Addington’s passion for country music began before he can remember. At age three, Brinley began climbing his parent’s coffee table pretending he was performing at the Grand Ole Opry. Brinley was influenced early on by the hymns he heard on Sunday and traditional country voices of Randy Travis, Vince Gill, and Alan Jackson. He gained inspiration from modern artists like Garth Brooks and Tim McGraw, as well as his parents’ love of Bluegrass. In the fourth grade, Brinley’s music teacher encouraged him to enter the school talent show where he performed for the very first time. At age 12, Brinley began singing at Church where he realized, what he feels to be, God’s plan for his life: making music. Brinley’s greatest musical

The Fearless Heart Band The Fearless Heart Band could best be described as Rock 'n' Roll with a Country soul, a band who plays hits from the 70s to modern day tunes in both genres, with a bar band swagger that works in a club or even a backyard get-together. The band formed in 2008 consisting of Brent Alan Shelton on guitar and vocals, Kelly
Brinegar drums and vocals, Chuck Morissette on bass guitar, and Rick Sharp as lead guitar and vocals. This Hawkins county quartet has been a local favorite performing at several of Rogersville's downtown "Cruise In on the Square" events in 2011,as well other venues in the surrounding cities.

April Taylor April Taylor takes her musical heritage seriously but when your great grandfather wrote songs with the world famous Carter Family, it just comes naturally. The Bristol, TN native grew up surrounded by music. As a kid, April would spend hours listening to her father’s albums and singing along though she never took her own musical talents seriously. She was happy singing in her church and with her family, with the hopes of
passing her rich musical heritage on to her own children. However, a recording of April singing found its way to producer in Nashville and her journey began! “Hero At Home” was the first single release and the wildly successful single garnering both critical acclaim and nationwide radio airplay. Because of that success, April launched a nationwide tour in January of 2006 and during the fol-
lowing 10 months she performed literally across the country and attended the White House Correspondence Dinner as a special guest from USA Today. She has traveled the country supporting 6 National Radio Releases her cd hit stores nationwide in 2007 and in 2008 she was named TOP Female Independent Artist of the year on Music row and came in Second for Artist of the Year. Her single ”I Wanna
Live like that” hit 21 on the charts. April parted with her label in 2009. April is a solo artist but she travels with a full band that rocks out as much as she does! With that amount of talent on the stage April’s team can undoubtedly say there are some good things to come. April’s first single from her new album will drop this Fall. She is currently scheduling tour dates locally, nationally, and internationally.

Dynamic Effects: continued from page 25 “I stay very busy, but not to busy to Celebrate the 4th of July in Rogersville”! Bob is already planning for this year’s 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza. “It will be as big as any show you have seen in the past”. Using a soundtrack pieced together by Committee Chairman Blaine Jones, the fireworks will be synchronized to music and timed perfectly to put on the 20 to 25 minute show. The fireworks soundtrack can be heard even by those outside of the Park courtesy of WRGS Radio doing a simulcast over the airwaves while the music plays in the Park. The music winds it way to the Finale “when I will light up the night skies here in Rogersville”. Smith and wife Julie have been
major sponsors for the past several years and they do not foresee any changes any time soon. “We absolutely love the area and we love being involved with the 4th of July Celebration – it has to be one of the premier Celebrations there is”. Dr. Jones states “I have had several families tell me our fireworks show is second to none and that is saying a lot as they have compared our show to many other places larger than Rogersville”. The sound track will have the usual favorites, some new music, some surprises and a variety of music for all ages. The booms, the bangs, the bright lights, the synchronized firing will cap off another huge Celebration this year thanks to Bob and Julie Smith and Dynamic Effects and Fireworks.

The Wall will be staffed by the local 278th Tennessee Army National Guard Wednesday, July 4th at the Rogersville City Park – and climbing will be free. Sgt. Roy Spears worked diligently and very closely with us to help obtain the Wall for our use. Besides the wall, several members of the Guard will be there and they will be bringing a vehicle or two for the kids to enjoy as well as the spider tent!
Even if you do not have kids and you do not climb Rock Walls, please stop by the Tennessee Army National Guard setup and thank the men and women who make this day of celebrating our independence all possible!
